did the hosptial sales reps get ranked by our managers? will they let the bottom 20% of us go even though we have only been in the field since June? what is every body hearing? should we get our resumes together lots of companies just got new drug approvals-just worried ...hearing a lot of gossip about this sales force
 


The reality is that this is an unstable situation. With Bob and Holly there will always be blame. If you are in top 50% you should be fine. Under that watch out. Look at the recent history. Top performing Neuro Oncology and Hospital reps, and mangers were cut to bring in someone new. It didnt work for Neuro so far. We will see with the rest
 


I agree-I have heard if you have 0 units even if you just started this summer you are out after national sales meeting -and if you took over a territory that already had sales and they have gone down you are gone too-I was lucky I inherited a territory that was just starting to take off but I worry about the rest of the new hosptial reps in my district ---my dm admitted they ranked us last month-
 


Seriously. This is such a bunch of bs. DMs ranking reps who have worked for them for 3 months but worked for the company for years? And perhaps these same individuals had their territory accounts/sales taken from them and handed to a new rep. You all know that a DM who was responsible for hiring reps isn't going to take these same reps and put them at the bottom of the list and admit to bad hiring. It just proves that the higher ups (Taro/Mark when will this ever come back to haunt you?) who made the decision to expand the hospital sales team did not make a wise decision. What was the true intent...divide and conquer all of the legacy people? They've offered a bigger incentive to stay through the year and go to SF but why don't you all pull out now and let them fall flat?
 


I feel your pain! I am in the district watching new reps succeed off of my old territory-with the formulary wins I got and the relationships I developed and my new territory which is half the size and easily half the potential is doing less than the one I lost. My new dm is connected with the new reps but not the existing reps...does not look good for pre expansion reps in my district, if the latest gossip is true.
 


Look at the wording on the previous posters. The new person said they were lucky because they inherited a good territory a territory that SOMEONE. ELSE built for you.
 


What about that ass clown manager for TN, NC, VA? He's a complete waste of time! That douche-nozzle likes to play with the reps by jerking them regarding his schedule and joint rides. Just set a schedule and send it out to your reps you POS!!!! Your primary care mentality is insulting to seasoned reps. Go back to managing difficult tasks like what to order your office for lunch and if you planned for enough people.
 




Nothing would surprise me anymore in this industry. After reading the posts here and reflecting back on comments from DM's, I can see where there may be a fair amount of validity to the rumor mill on this. It's really a damn shame if this comes about. This company is a good one w/a good product but not so good mid level leadership. When you have mid level management w/slim to no hospital experience and unrealistic expectations (roaming floors, constant contradictions), it's a big challenge. Crap like this is why reps are no longer loyal to companies. There is no competency shown to the reps by their DM's. Why hire tenured very successful reps and attempt to manage them from a primary care mentality??? I don't understand it at all!!! I can only hope that this is truly a wrong rumor, but as I've stated I think it just may be legitimate.
 


I know I have heard of many reps that have been upsetting important targets at their hospitals just by doing what is considered "their job" My advice if you are told to not wonder around the floors then dont wonder around the floors. Nothing good comes from violating hospital policy. It is hard when our direction is in conflict with the realities of our territory.
 


As an expansion rep I dont believe this-why would they go to the expense of training us and even pay us bonus for 3rd quarter when some of us have pitiful sales at best... just to let us go after the first of the year. I plan on riding this wave as long as I can and you should do the same

The senior management doesn't want to hear what they consider "negative attitudes" or complaining." They can't separate constructive criticism, truth and what would be best for business from this. The process of the manager evals proves this. Sad state for a pretty darn good company w/a really good product but w/DM's w/NO hospital experience and a primary care mentality.

I've heard that some DM's selected a hand picked few to do their evals. If that's true, that's just more evidence of what I just stated. But that process is insulting to anyone w/half a brain!!!
 


in all the years I have been in hospital sales I have never heard of a company expecting as many programs as this one-I feel bad for the reps that have been here since launch---how are you expected to continue to do programs/--lets face it if they havent come to one in over a year they wont-several exisitng reps in my district have already completed 30+ programs---what a waste of money! Should just drop the price
