Agreed about the high risk. If you have been laid off then yes, go for it. If not, think twice. Start-ups are not like they used to be. Back in the day, it was great because they would give large sign-on bonus, true uncapped potential for bonus, and high bases. Those days are gone. The recruiter told me it was uncapped, but everyone says that. I would at least be a little weary if you decide to go for it. Leaving the larger companies with better benefits to a start-p with something that hasn't been approved isn't a gamble I am willing to take anymore.
