L’OreHell - Overlay Reps Watch Your Back

I have worked in this industry for 30 years and I am genuinely disturbed by what my friend has been experiencing at L’Oreal. She is a new hire and from the beginning, she was made to feel unwelcome by her counterparts who openly expressed that they didn’t want an overlay rep. Despite doing her job, submitting reports, and trying to stay professional, she has been continuously targeted. The worst came when her manager accused her of forging a provider’s signature an accausation that is not only false, but something she can absolutely disprove. To make matters worse, HR seems to be siding with the manager at every step. Instead of protecting the rep or facilitation a fair process, they have restricted her from the field and cut off her communication with customers without allowing her to defend herself or present her side. She’s tried to advocate for herself but feels completely intimidated and fears further retaliation. She’s been questioned about family medical issues, which she shared with her manager and even that was met with doubt and disrespect. Has anyone else experienced this type of toxic leadership or HR bias at L’Oreal or elsewhere? It is heartbreaking to watch, and even more frustrating knowing how many good reps are pushed out because of poor leadership and broken internal systems.

This is unbelievable this kind of garbage can go on in our industry! Those hiring managers and HR should not get away with this and they should be held accountable for their deceitful actions! Anyone who is a NEW HIRE at L'Oréal better watch their backs indeed!
What an extremely unprofessional company to work for! I am hoping something will be done about this! My apologies she has had to go through this.

The post and reply reek of coming from the same person. L'Oreal is not perfect, but this is not how the company operates. The current reps welcome the new reps because they were carrying/promoting too many products. If a new rep is being targeted this early on (they just had their national sales meeting earlier this year) then the new rep (who clearly wrote the post a la "asking for a friend!") is doing something shady. All sales jobs are tough, but if you are performing, you are not being targeted, even if you are a bit on the difficult side. That is anywhere. No one wants to get rid of someone performing well in their territory and not causing problems.

Actually I am here on behalf of a friend and I am not a new hire. I have been in this industry for over 30 years and I can see what is going on. You know everything I said is true. In fact you are trying to do damage control for your company right now or you would not be on this site. I have been in this industry a long time and shame on your company for not being a mentor to new hires. Instead your toxic company chooses to target new hires instead of helping them to reach their growth potential that they were hired for by your company.

Yeah, it looks like there are so many horrible reviews all over Cafepharma about L'Oréal! Sounds like an awful place for people to work at! They probably take advantage of the young reps coming in! Really unprofessional folks working there it sounds like. I saw someone else out there called the company, "L'OréaHell"

this is not a sales job. this is just a UPS delivery job and market share from the drug store procurement is the only way to gauge performance. sure you get to know the derm offices, but it's not at a sales level and good luck justifying this job and your role when interviewing with other companies
