There is a man named Edward O. Thorp, who crushed blackjack and the stock market for close to $1B over his 60 plus years of investing. He is around 90 years old today, in great health. Anyway, he made his investors about 20% a year over a long period of time, and even called out Bernie Madoff, saving his clients hundreds of millions in the process by using sophisticated quantitative analysis. Now, I know most of you in this industry are not the brightest bulbs in the world, based on the posts I have read over the years here. But, I was wondering, do you think Thorp had a 401k?
Keep allowing the movers and shakers to take your hard earned money and hold it for decades and see how far that will get you. And compare that to men like Thorp or other rich people that take YOUR money to make themselves more money, with lowers their risk while lining their pockets.
Some people just never learn in life. Carry on my Wayward Sons. Enjoy your soda, chips and ice cream in the meantime and think that a pill is going to save your health later, as well. SMH.
