Life After Dynasplint

Although emotionally and financially painful at first, getting laid off by DSI was a wake up call for me. The day to day busy work of getting orders filled timely, doing paperwork, and fitting patients, resulted in me not seeing any other opportunities.

Now that I have been laid off, and I am getting paid back some of what is due me little by little, I have had the time to realize there are many other sales opportunities that do NOT require the same time commitments, and pays well.

I know that George will not pay me back all that I am owed. I have a family to feed and rent to pay. I looked for salaried work that kept me close to home, but there is not much out there.

I decided to try doing 1099 work with another company I found on one of the job boards, and I'm now back in the same clinics, leveraging the relationships I worked so hard to cultivate while I was with DSI.

There is a great life after being laid off, and I'm now glad I was laid off. No more long hours, no more grumpy patients when they get a bill, and I no longer am on call at all hours.

My fellow DSI reps should quit whining and crying in their beer. Instead, you should find new work calling on your same physicians and clinics. Move on with your life.
