The abaqis quality assurance tool has opened a lot of doors for reps calling on nursing homes - large chains and small individiual facilities. It's a totally different way to bring value to our customers and grow the business.

And now three years into abaqis most nursing homes have figured out that all you really need to do is ask they questions. Most issues can be solved then and no need to use a big, time consuming program. And it does not cost anything.

for 95% of NH abaqis is a waste of time and money.

It is a psychological effect, 'asked and answered'. That is why nursing homes always do better on the second and third survey on QIS. The resident has already 'been asked' and has already 'answered' these questions before. So when they are asked ' have you ever?' in their mind this question has been 'asked and answered' and therefore does not give a negative response.

So you are correct most nursing homes only need to ask the questions time and time again, and the negitive responses will go away for the most part. And since over 60% of Stage 1 issues that can trigger a Stage 2 investigation are from resident and family interviews, just ask and ask away.

You clearly have no clue about how QIS survey works, or abaqis, for that matter. Understandable, though, it is too complicated for some people....

What is there to understand Einstein? QIS is not complicated. If anything, Abaqis overcomplicates it. That is why most of my facilities who have Abaqis, don't even other using it anymore.

Hell as a Medline rep I have to agree. We make it way to complicated for customers. Abaqis is just and only a way to "entangle" nursing homes.

And yes I understand QIS And Abaqis inside and out.
