Merit Increase?

Dec 10. Not a PEEP from management on year end merit increases. No surprise I guess, as there’s been no communication on vacation buy back, or Christmas week off. Par for the course with Chris D at the wheel...
 

So management was just going to avoid the subject? Why not just communicate with the sales force that it likely won’t happen due to what was stated in previous post? We can do better Chris.
 
This is what happens when you give away the farm. Watch the questions from analysts on the earnings calls in 6 and 9 months. That will tell you which direction we're going.

I believe this is what we were all warned about when the company was hiring. A bloated top heavy organization with leaders looking to get paid.

even with an SVP of “migraine strategy”, whatever the hell that is we are floundering. I guess his Botox experience brought us a Kardashian, but not much else.

BHVN fell pray to what most companies do in this space. Numerically there is a ton of migraine patients, realistically most take OTC or generics and the docs who tell us what we want to hear are too fundamentally lazy to fight for anything else.

Migraine is the PCP of neurology which is why they can’t fill fellowships and kick it off to NPs and PAs to deal with.

Exactly. BHVN pilfered Takeda management and their buddy reps and dangled the huge bonus carrot and stocks. Get some prescriptions and a big check... then what? Managers get big money but reps are struggling in a crowded market to make bonus.
 
What makes any of you think you deserve a merit increase? Companies are barley keeping their head above water. Be lucky you have a job. That’s your merit increase So shut up and stop complaining. Or go hit the unemployment line.

I have never been less concerned about a merit increase in my life. If you told me I’d still have a job after 10 month of this I would have told you you not to gag on the Kool-Aid. Seems really whiny and entitled to bitch about this when business are shuttered and role face loosing their jobs and homes.

I think what the original frustration was the continual lack of any communication. What about the vacation buy back? Crickets...

It’s amazing to me, people complaining about vacation and merit increases. We are in a pandemic where there are people who are losing their livelihood, and can barely pay their bills or buy presents for their children. You should feel blessed beyond measure to pay your bills. You should be grateful you have a job. If I were Vlad I’d cut all you slimy, ungrateful reps. They don’t even need you!

Oh and by the way, look around at all your colleagues and teammates. You are all industry re-treads, has- bens or previously been laid off by your past employer. Be happy you have this gig. At least you are familiar with resume updating and zoom interviewing because you'll be going through that again in 2021. This is the Land of Misfits just like on your favorite Christmas special.

Everybody calm down. A handful of people got a bump recently to help level them up. That is separate from merit increases. We never get our merit increases until Feb or so. We don't even have October ranking reports yet which is partly what they are based on. That doesn't mean our jobs are secure, it just means there is nothing unusual going on right now. Merry Christmas!
