Dear Management,
The stress associated with this job is beginning to question my dedication for long term employment. I know as a fact... the lack of training due to poor education at product launches is an issue. You have tons of new people and you need to begin with basics before you expand. EXAMPLE: MM new technology is launched but if reps don't understand MM they are running to catch up. Why didn't you have everyone do a MM module BEFORE the launch? Same thing goes for NSCLC.... let us prepare before we are thrown to the wolves!
EXAMPLE#2: Tech talks are great...if you can understand the speaker! You are wasting our time and getting us frustrated with presenters we can not understand.
EXAMPLE #3: Poor communication on what is expected of reps. Give a outline of modules that need to be done and what tests are required, in advance. Weekends or Fridays with last minute requests is just poor planning....what happened to Q of Life? We all need it, especially management!

I love the company but feel very unprepared every single day...and no time to learn the multiple tests we offer and how they are done.
I am sincere in writing this and want you to improve . I am too young to get gray hair, and I am too proud to dye it.

How about our commission structure! Month to month numbers go up and down. How about giving every rep a $500 net bonus, not gross every month. If we hit our numbers then we make more. If we have a down month then at least we have something. The goals are unreachable. At least we would have a little cash and something to work for.

This is the main tool they use to get rid of reps so don't expect it to ever change. They can manipulate your numbers anytime they want and on the PIP you go!. I wonder if they manipulate the numbers they report to Wall St too?
 
you are not expected to know anything because you don't sell anything. your are stealing from poor, defensive sick people. increasing the cost of healthcare, raising the contract rates of the patients plans. all the while telling the naive doctor that their patients will never receive a bill. what you have done to this industry is a complete disgrace and your superiors should go to jail. next step will be misdiagnosis from the 30 JUNIOR pathologists you have signing out cases.
 
Managed Care Organizations are catching on to their games. They are using the same tatics another company used 6-7 years ago before they went Chapter 11. Sound familiar ?

Really?

Have you seen today’s stock price Spanky? And this comment: “Physician practices are under intense economic pressure” WTF does that mean? The party is over!! No more 3rd party out-of-network gravy train.

Millions have been made by “The Big Three” and several more, and now it will be on to the next scheme! Oh sure, there will be promises of “new technology” and “renewed efforts” but really the next step is sell off what’s left to LCA.
 
sure LCA will buy it for, say, $200 million. Then they will promptly turn it into a 70 million company based on the keen leadership of Robert, Andy and David who would not know a good idea if it bit them.

Please, give your District managers training in "how to manage" and "how to communicate".
Emails yelling at representatives are immature, demotivating, mean, and just a poor reflection on Genoptix. With so many new folks, which are already under stress, receiving an unprofessional message can stress them out some more. I just don't want any one to speak to another person so poorly... no need for it.
Here's a crash course: Read you message 5 times before you send it. If you have doubt in it, you probably should Not send it. Also, are you comfortable with anyone in the company reading it?
Any one else have problems with management communication?

Maybe you don't understand but this is the culture here! Nobody cares about your feelings! The only motivation you need is that you will be fired if you don't make your numbers!
 
No, there are some managers that need to go! Several reps on my team have verbally been abused. Reps, DM, and RD backstabbing everyone. It is so childish here! What is more sad is that I know of RD's that never ride with their reps and even worse DM's that don't offer any substance and you wonder why numbers suck! Take a look Management, it has never been the reps - it is your leaders.
 
Who cares about the midwest! There are several DM and RD's that need to go. I'm sorry, but the mgrs need to quit being best friends to certain reps and showing favoritism to certain reps and treat everyone equally. I know of RD's that haven't ridden with some of their new reps at all. Carlsbad can never blame a rep when they don't meet their numbers and do not receive help from their own mgrs.

Are you serious? That is standard operating procedure for Genoptix! Look at all the shit Burt got away with! Carlsbad ONLY looks at your numbers!
 
If we agree managers in the midwest need to go, we should talk to HR. Reps in other regions like their managers and RD and they seem to work well together. I wouldnt need an RD working with me if I had a good manager. But my manager sucks and when I call my RD I get no response.I haven't heard my RDs voice on a call in over a month. Havent gotten an email in weeks. Wonder if I can relo? Remind me where the vacancies are please.
