Tone Deaf Mother F&@$ker. People wondering if they are going to lose their jobs before the holidays, and he has no empathy or even acknowledgement of the tremendous anxiety in the room. He’s 100% gangster.
Completely tone deaf senior leaders. People are wondering if they are going to lose their jobs and we have a 90 minute call talking about how “great” our brands and financials are and he waits until the last 20 minutes to not answer questions. Then has the audacity to say he kept his promise of no more changes but it was the “brand” that prompted change but it wasn’t because of cost cutting measures. Unbelievable.
He’s a f—— idiot. Horrible leader, has no idea what he’s doing, and constantly contradicts himself. How is someone like that running this company? Oh wait, the people above him are even dumber.

Instead of cleaning out the”Heads” that were lackluster at best, he promoted them and gave them even more power. “Wheels” that no one can coherently make sense of. He will be gone in a few years and this company will have to undo everything he just did.
Can someone just acknowledge we overpaid for iveric bio??? And while good product not a blockbuster, And they are supposed to pay the loan back in some ridiculous amount of time? Vyloy is a tiny patient population, veozah is just going to get crushed when Bayer comes out and we literally have no pipeline. The “wheel” with brand at the center makes no sense, field is confused by all the cooks in the kitchen. Oh and hybrid work model coming back-but they forgot to think about over communicating and where are people supposed to sit in northbrook when there are like only two floors to use. And lets not forget how many people left the state….that are left hanging on what this means. Company sucks and its quickly losing top talent and letting friends of friends run the place to the ground
This place is atrocious. You have a horrible leader in market access making sweeping decisions on teams she has chosen to not engage with. They’ve chased off quick acting problem solvers and then filled those roles with 3 Astellas legacy folks who haven’t worked in years and somehow seem to find nothing in their “remit”.
Every thought is dismissed as not the Astellas way. Which is what exactly? Their ignorance and arrogance stems from having no engagement with the industry outside the walls of Astellas. It’s like going back in time…and every decision made is done so without patient or customer in mind
Obviously the internal narrative is the Izervay group is a bunch of deplorables but why? They are the only group working there asses off to keep this product moving forward.
And why wouldn’t they shift to brand at center also? Market access is just floating around detached from the mother ship and it’s filled w angry Astellas legacy who hold themselves accountable for 0.0%f. But they are the reason this shit show is where it is.

Mike P has noooo idea what’s going on in market access. And what’s their hold up for April layoffs? It’s obviously to benefit some of these long tenured do nothings. It’s impossible to get anything done here. More time is spent navigating the internal chaos and disorganization. Everyone passes the buck. No one communicates. Some of the stories of Astellas legacy “ARMs” (who aren’t involved in reimbursement?) are hilarious. They strip any position of an ability to function. But yet the still hold themselves in high regard. This is the biggest farce of a company.
