Mindray

I have been approached about working for Mindray selling against the 800lb gorillas Philips and GE. Since this is the GE thread I wanted to get your thoughts on Mindray and their monitoring product line? What does Biomed and end users think? Thanks Y'all

You won't really be competing against GE and Philips, Mindray mostly mid-lower end market (surgery centers and rural).

They've got a great value proposition, high feature set low price. Well established brand and decent quality. They fall somewhat short on after the sale installation and training, it's a stick and move company.

What part of the country, there are a few markets to avoid and a few that are ripe.

Well entrenched means big installed base. IT runs the ship, they won't take a flier on a Chinese company due to networking and interfacing issues. Can you say "Aware Gateway"?

Sure, the reps are lazy. But guess what - the customers even more so.

Good luck kid, you're going to need it.

When I read the word "Mindray" and GE, I figure it's a new R & D job ... you know, kinda a Big Brother (Orwell 1984 type) project that Boss Immelt got some stimulus money from Dear Leader Obama and has hired 1000's of workers to build.

In China.

Mindray is a place to make MONEY!!!!! GE, Phillips is laying around selling the same old technology! Companies like Mindray and Nihon Kohden will take large amounts of market share from them!

Mindray is about to deal a lethal blow to GE, and Phillips Patient Monitors and Telemetry systems! The new Patient Monitoring line will be state of the art technology, Infection control friendly, and create a seamless flow of patient data easily accessible by clinicians. How does a 5 Year warranty sound on the monitor and all Modules! The most important point to hospitals and Hospital systems is the economical price tag that will make even the secondary market nervous!

N series??

I spent the better part of a decade working in GE Patient Monitoring. So many issues with GE right now opening the door for smaller players. GE carescape network is super dated, monitors literally look like they came from the 90s, newer central station has no communication issues, networking is all old technology oh and no transport monitors. If you even sell the deal you then have to deal with lousy project management and parts shortages. I had deals that took well over 3+ years to fully implement due to weak project management and a series of parts shortages. GE is the land of conference calls and finger pointing. Zero accountability or appreciation for customers. As for future pipeline all the money goes to ultrasound.
