OK, two weeks ago Corporate sent us all a "mobile phone survey", which was just one question (paraphrased below):
"Which of the following choices would you prefer?:
1) Continue to use your own mobile phone for business, but allow Applied to put corporate applications on it that require at least 25GB of storage space.
2) Use an iPhone provided by Applied for business use.
3) Use an Android phone provided by Applied for business use."
OK, Applied, how about some explanation of why changing the present system is necessary? And more importantly, what do the applications on my phone or that the Applied-provided phone do, and what can we be assured they won't do? In other words, what sort of spyware are you imposing on us?
For instance, will they have a MOTUS app that cannot be turned off, so it's tracking your whereabouts every minute of every business day, like we're children that can't be trusted? Will it monitor, record, transmit phone calls, texts and e-mails? Will it, like Alexa, have the ability to listen in on face-to-face conversations? Will it have our phone crawl up our arse and do a colonoscopy while we're asleep?
I think we're entitled to a thorough, honest explanation - in writing - of what they are imposing on us before we just roll over and take it. Any thoughts on this?
