Morale is pretty bad for Account managers

Anyone else feeling like the morale is pretty bad here at Caris? I have talked with a lot of account managers across the country. So many seem deflated. I just joined the company a couple of months ago, so maybe this is the norm? It feels like the Rbm's, and Mos's stick together, and the AM's are not viewed as equally important members of the team. It's a really uncomfortable culture. I feel like I made a very poor decision in coming here. I had such high hopes. My husband didn't think it was a good move for me, and I have come to the realization he was right. It's a struggle understanding why the molecular oncology specialist are paid so differently then Am's? Any specific reason they also get more stock options (which is pointless right now)? Does anyone know if our non compete is enforced if we leave?

They'll enforce the non competes, so make sure you have a plan devised. Also, they probably won't pay you your last commission/bonus check so just be aware.

You do realize that most of the Regional business managers were former MOS's? It's not a coincidence their are some significant growing pains. New leadership is here for one reason and one reason only..."to go public". Infrastructure is lagging behind sales volume. Lot's of power struggles so to speak. My recommendation is to explore what else is out there. Think for yourself, and take the time to see the forest through the trees. From an income perspective, Caris has historically under paid compared to other profiling companies. I can't speak for the non-compete. The high turnover from all accounts are reps that pursued opportunity's outside tumor profiling. If I was an account manager, I would definitely jump ship. I can't say I blame you all. I would certainly recommend you voice your frustrations to HR if you decide to leave. Best of luck to in your future endeavors.
 


You have every right to feel this way as an account manager. I am an AM myself, and outside of a few, most feel like glorified admin's. The culture here is not going to change. Best thing for those of us that aren't satisfied with how we are treated....keep your options opened!

we are glorified admins, just waiting to be told what to do next. i'm waiting for my next interview.

Caris is not about patients, doctors, or (most of) its employees. It's about a virtue-signaling billionaire and a small group of incompetent people in his orbit getting rich while patting themselves on the back. Think really hard before you join these dark people.
