More layoffs supposedly on the way. Which groups provide little value?

Exactly. And bring back Liability for vaccines, RFK, Jr. Make it in America Again.
Y'all are insane if you think J&J is moving low cost production back to the US. J&J sells 100s of millions to China. Now they'll cost 100s of millions + 145%. That means China will buy less, J&J needs to make less, lower sales and more layoffs.

Instead of eliminating core functions that can be repurposed, why not truly embrace tech and AI and cut the little value add roles? I took a look at bloated organizations and procurement and compliance have so many people. Procurement has been hit a few times but still very large. Compliance orgs are huge. Isn’t AI able to do more of these functions now?

Supply chain, finance, HR, compliance and IT chocked with mediocre people who call themselves talents. The outsourcing culture is also very common in these functions where the actual work is being performed by these non JNJ resources while JNJ staffs play the roles of "account managers" (aka middlemen) with no legitimate skills or knowledge.

Finance.

Look right or left and there's a director. Too many of them who just get updates from the people beneath who are doing the actual work and they barely know the subject matter or can problem solve.
This is exactly the same with my ibg and Scg folks. Let’s have a call to gather insights form the people doubt to work. They collate the info and claim it as their own. They screw up meetings because they don’t actually know the customers. Smoke and mirrors. They come to tar launched and bloat out in the back row. Provide zero value
