Or as Athersys Inc refers to it as a biological product. Anyone buying into the thought of stemcell medicine in the NEAR future. I know this company just had a huge failure on there Phase II with Pfizer via UC. No indication of healing at all. Which brings me to the investment part of stem cells. Surely there are people here that know much more than an investor would... Info would be great.
In general what is noticed by our group is the 20 or so companies, yet nothing has made it past phase I on an efficacy standpoint. THere was re engineered cells out of the U of Penn tied to Novartis back in Dec 13. That worked very well. What all these very small players have in common is the use of MSC's MAPC's IPSC, etc... Cells they seem to pull straight from Adults.
Get the feeling that they are all an in your face scam with legit paperwork, legit FDA process, etc.. Basically they are taking something safe, just like a placebo and selling it to American investors as if it actually had the ability to "CURE" That brings out words like, exciting, possible, Promising, etc. that will lead anyone with a human condition to look into it. Even investors love these types of plays, especially those at small retail levels... i .e. the TD Ameritrade / Etrade trader.. he will do his homework, study, listen to CC, and belive... Then invest on what he was led to believe is a great science...
That was several of us during the 2000 internet fiasco... Buying the likes of internet junk... That is why we now work as a group, gather our info and share... Unfortunately, we see many taking big losses now on these stem cell companies... IP companies too...
