Need info on Celleration

I've been approached by a recruiter to interview with this company. It seems like novel technology with pretty decent clinical proof behind it, but I want to know what the word on the street is. I'm in the OR capital sales side of things & don't have much experience in the wound care field. Just want some insight before I go too far into the interview process. Thanks in advance for the advice.

I couldn't disagree more with the previous respondent -- I have direct experience with the company and personal experience with MIST Therapy. Not only is the technology substantiated by volumes of clinical support, but they have only begun to discover all the potential markets the technology could serve. This is a company to watch.

To watch from afar.

Ask to speak with a couple of current representatives to get a real feel for reimbursement, current territory challenges etc.

Medicare has all but eliminated reimbursement for this procedure and is being done less and less as the focus on wound care has become more and more outpatient/wound care center based.

Not bad technology, just a victim of tough times.

Let's face it - facilities are looking at short term ROI right now. No reimbursement means no sale. They just can't afford to risk not getting paid. It doesn't matter how many more potiential markets are out there if the patient has to foot the bill...

Celleration?, was a good company. MIST Therapy works like a dog. Reimbusement sucked in my territory, but I killed it. Brought on Duke Med Ctr to use for post operative LVAD surgical wounds, major, major procedure. The draw back was it is so labor intensive. Not a wound vac, or HBO where you plug in then walk away. Julie Higgenbothem was a solid VP of Sales. Hands down had the best clinical specialist, Marcie Turkos, in the nation. Dr. Samies at Orangeburg Med Ctr might have been making $3.5MM a year, maybe closer to $5MM. Huge wound care, huge waiting room, and my boy put them all on the MIST Therapy.

Good hunting
