2nd Q numbers were pretty solid. Looks like stim business is starting to come back to life. 9% YOY growth. Obviously, last year nombers were terrible but they are at least moving it in the right direction.
Buy and Bill gaining steam...
Told you Nieman was a great gain for your team.. Already paying off...
I'm impressed by the fact that this post is professional and positive! Nice to see that people aren't looking to take shots.[/QUOTE
Give it time....
well on there way to the stock hitting 50. stim, implants and biologics leading the way.
Wasn't orthopedics 6 % short compared tp prior year?
Where is the President of Global Orthopedics? Is he still based in Texas or has he returned to his comfort zone in Italy to rescue the sinking ship there?
Who cares about Global Orthopdics, they are a non event at Orthofix Global. OFIX doesn't need Ortho to be successful because they contribute very little to the mix. U obviously have a personal agenda against Luigi but that has zero impact on things appearing to be getting better for OFIX.
So you are claiming that orthopedics which accounts for 31 % of total sales is a " non event" and contribute little to the mix?" Is this some kind of thinking outside the box ?
Ok, when you pull Breg out of the picture it might be 31%. Orthopedics does not have the profits that stim and spine implants have and is a drag to the bottom line. If OFIX sold Orthopedics the stock might hit 60. Market makers could care 2 shits about Orthofix Ortho business. The focus is spine and biologics.
No one will buy the OFIX Ortho business for anything like an acceptable price to OF. But why is OFIX Ortho so lame while other Ortho Companies are flourishing? Why has it not grown and evolved during recent years?
First, it has a very weak product line. If you pulled Trinity out of the equation the reversal in Orthopedic business would be mid teen double digits. It's not a true Orthopedic company. Who uses Ex-fix? Cavemen? It's nail and plate system are me too with very low margins. They can't compete with Stryker or SN with this stuff. Forget about Physio-stim. If Styrker, Zimmer, Depuy and SN are the major leagues of a true Orthopedic company and products........Orthofix would be at best a Division 3 college team.
Considering that annual worldwide orthopedic sales reached $ 42 billion in 2011 of which annual trauma device sales are estimated at $ 5- 6 billion, OFIX Orthopedics would be at best a Division 3 Junior School.

No personal agenda. With Ofix's miniscule and declining market share of the worldwide ortho market, just wondering if he is the right man for the job?
who cares?
