Agreed. Although PW didn't always do everything PC, we was looking out for the sales team (comparatively). BSS's will be dwindled down to at least half by March 2012. I, too, believe this once was a great company. Now it is just like all of the others (GSK, DNA, AZ). Now that the BSS's do none of the logistics and education, there is no real need to keep them in the offices. FRM's will expand, maybe double, but BSS's will be a concept of the past.
Medimmune does not value the BSS's. Hasn't that been made clear?

FRM's will have to expand sooner rather than later. starting relatively thin with 23 makes sense. If they started with 40 FRM's , you'd still have seen probably 35+ of them being former CMM's in a role that's more natural for a bss anyway.
Starting with 23 allows for some cmm's to be retained, and creates some future opportunities for bss's as the role evolves and the industry/phrma code continues to change. The current FRM's are gonna get so hammered when the season starts: many of them haven't been in a peds office or worked on outpatient access issues in years. I wish them lots of success but, with major real estate to cover (i.e, windshield time) how are they going to be in several places at the same time resolving everyone's access issues on a timely basis ? It seems to add up to some career opportunities for bss's. Cripes I hope so anyway.
Ok BSs you just worry about your clinical detail - something you will struggle with in the hospital. Many cmms trained some of you and all won't fail. So sad that this jealousy still exists.
Oh no, no jealousy here at all!!! It's the same old argument as always. BSSs did 90ercent of the work and the CMMs made the bulk of the money. Case in point....just yesterday, I went to one of the top birth hospitals in my state to plan late summer nursing in-services, etc. They had not seen a Medimmune rep, A CMM, for three years!!!!!! That is right kiddies. You are talking about a CEO winning CMM who has been on perpetual vacation. I have worked my ass off so this person could make quadruple of what I made. F--- it.
I don't believe that. I do think that you could go into almost any territory and find someone who makes a claim like that about the previous rep. Maybe that person had not seen the rep. If it was a big account like you say the rep probably chose the most effective people to work with. You probably heard this from some nicu nurse and she will say the same about you when you are gone. Are you getting into negative conversations about the prior rep in critical accounts? Idiot!

there is as much turnover in "responsibilities" in a NICU as there are in ped office. That particular individual might not have been an important person as at that point. again- I agree with above- get over it and if your so great go do your job and quite being negative about those who are still looking for one that probably didnt deserve to.
Get over yourself is right. This BSS, like ZS Assoc and SC, has no understanding of how many people are involved in a major birthing center or NICU. The nursing staff alone runs into multiple hundreds. Even with morning and evening in-services there are plenty of people who won't see you for long periods of time. Responsibilities change all the time, staff changes, hours change... and people forget too. Let's see, you spent five minutes there and now you know that the old rep wasn't doing the job? Congrats on getting in the door and talking to ONE person. Quite the expert you are. Now, did MedImmune really get rid of the right person? I think not. You are clearly one of the jealous whiners with no understanding of the CMM role. Can't wait to see you fail and be eliminated. Stop talking bad about people in accounts. Unbelievable that you would stoop to walking in the door and looking for problems with the old rep. Disgusting, really.
