Distribution are just order takers stop expecting them to sell your product. Mfg rep is the person responsible for selling a product.

Idexx should be a eye opener, better stop being order takers and realize if you don't support the Mfg that still run products through you or more will go the Pfizer route... Lose a elanco or Merk or BI and your totally screwed.

Index as your example destroys your opinion. Idexx is whipping their reps because their sales are down whereas Abaxis and Antech are taking major market share from Idexx. These facts show that distributor reps are selling Abaxis and Antech (MWI) and Idexx is not achieving the numbers they had when working with distribution. I work for a major manufacturer and I welcome my distributor partners selling my product and gaining access for me.

Maybe this is the reason why Patterson Sales of Merck products are down so much this year yet Merck $ales are up. Hmmmmmmmm_____
