Quota/commission structure and stability

Can anyone do me a favor and explain the quota/commission structure for the sales rep role? I was told to receive commissions you have to hit your monthly quota. Any details on this?

Also, how is job stability for sales reps? I understand people quitting, but how cutthroat are they about reps? If you dont hit quota are you gone? Or do they allow you time to build your territory etc.?

Quotes are based on something KFPs (Key Focus Products) which I believe are oxygen, cpaps/bipaps and respiratory meds. If you don't hit your quote you do not receive your commissions. You should be inheriting accounts that are already producing. You get a few months to prove yourself. Besides performance, my opinion is they take things into account that can't be measured, like your aptitude for the job, your personal 'fit' with the branch and your grasping of the business. yes quotas not quotes. Yes NPWT, but I think they have regional reps that specialize in marketing the npwt. And it competes very well against KCI. Hospitals have been clamoring for an alternative to KCI. Plus the gauze dressings are perfect for homecare in case of NPWT pumpfailure
 


Seriously, how many of you made a good living in 2013? I bet most made 0 commission and those that did make money have either contracts or did it unethically. So glad I'm gone. I'm sure my closeted homosexual former boss is still beating the drum. Good for him. As for his sales team.... Why are you still there?
 


To answer your question, in the new structure you need to achieve 90% to quota to receive any payout.

What you make is determined by your territory. I am still here right now, but with all the changes in the company and the industry I have accepted another position and am have already put in my 2 weeks. With the loss of Tubefeeding, a lot of people lost a lot of money...including myself. I will say that I have learned a lot here, and if I didn't lose so much $ I may not be leaving...but it's also become tough to help people the way they should be helped with all the changes. Now I'm not sure what salaries are like in certain areas, but I have a big/lucrative territory and my salary was 67. I achieved my quotas for the year, and my total W2 was 136k. I know people on here say it's impossible to make money, but if you get a good territory you absolutely can. The problem for me, like I said, is that tubefeeding was taken away and that would drop me to under 100k. Still a good payout, but a big hit from what I was making.

Like I said it's very tough to service patients with all the changes going on. I did this job because I truly cared about helping people, and this was also the reason why I did well. With Competitive Bidding / operational changes, it's made it almost impossible.

As far as time to build your territory, you should be given time to get acclimated. As was said, you'll have to see how your territory was doing before you got there and go from there...it could already be achieving 100% to quota for all you know. It could also be achieving 50%..you gotta ask when interviewing.

Lastly, like any job, who you have for a boss is big. My bosses here have been incredible, really the best bosses I've ever had...and they're the reason I've stayed as long as I have already.

You must have been quite a producer. I am glad you posted. SO many people think you can make any money there but actually they are one of the highest paying DMEs out there. It is just stressful as hell and constant change.
