R & D needs to be rejuvenated. It need fearless leaders with vision and passion for science, not crap and jokers from fourth floor of 4570 who are in amylin to collect fat check and warming chairs.

Current R & D leadership contributed zero to build pipeline. Amylin's drugs were build by visionaries with excellent leadership skills with passion for science. Unfortunately, non of them work with Amylin now.

1] Exenatide franchise - Credit goes to Andrew Young (now in GSk)

2] Pramlintide franchise - Credit goes to Ted Green

3] Leptin franchise - Credit goes to Alain Baron

For R & D to excel, current leaders should be kicked out deep in pacific ocean (so that they should never return back to Amylin) and hire back all or some of leaders mentioned above.
