its hard enough to get any of the sharp folks in network to help me with my project and now i hear they have taken these guys and put then under some old turd that i have never even heard of. need to find out who in mgmt did this and congratulate them one last time before they get let go for this brilliance.

Got wind of this on fri. Forget the manager - I found out he doesn't speak english. You should talk to the network guys direct and they will help you out. They all will quote you policy and ask you to talk to the manager but be nice and treat them well and you should have no problem. There's the network cable guy who doesn't do cabling anymore but talk to him and explain the issue and he'll track your issue down for you. There's also the other network guy who's always hungry - connect with him and treat him well and he'll go out of the way to help you out.

who does the DNS guy in networking reports to now? This guy was very helpful.

Not sure of the details just yet but sure sounds like it. Who does the work now ?? - can't have any of the management on network systems. That would f*&( things up real quick cause neither of them can find their butth()l with both hands. The network folks may be happy with this as they finally get to leave IT shith0le

So they are laying off some folks and having others report to a manager in emea or aspac? Won't matter though as the original manager was useless.

Good one. There's quite a bit of truth to this as I spoke to this mgr a couple of months ago and I totally lost him. Its about how old he is and how many years experience he has - forget it completely useless in fixing my problem. Best idea I have heard all day - ignore the manager and talk to the tech folks directly. This is the case in almost all groups today.

The guy is a total 'richard' head.

referring to him as a turd is being too kind. there is only one manager in networking that is worthy of the title. She blows both of them away any day of the week. worked with RW years ago, she is great.
