Docs get compensated and/or penalized for hitting/missing the percentage of how many people they get screened for colon cancer.
They get credit for getting patients screened by FIT/FOBT, Cologuard, and Colonoscopy. Not shield. Which costs $10,000 for 10 years of screening instead about 1/3 or less for the other methods- so approval isn’t guaranteed, especially since it misses so many early stage cancers and precancerous lesions- which is the whole reason behind screening.
If the blood test does get approved for credit, it will likely be secondary with hoops to jump through (docs hate that), and Exact Sciences (already entrenched in the market) will likely launch theirs.
I’d look elsewhere honestly
