Should I work here?

Obviously I am in desperate need of an opinion here. I am currently in media sales, and I make about 95K a year. I am really wanting to get out, but definitely want to leave for the right job. I have been contacted about a position with Supernus. I have been interested in leaving media sales for something like pharma or medical sales for a while now, but just don't know if this is a smart decision or not, since I have no previous experience in pharma. I would be taking a bit of a pay cut if I took this job, but would it be worth it in the long haul? Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.

From someone who knows Supernus really well don't do it...they will offer you $55-60k with potential bonus opportunities but let me tell you that they are just potential...they will be selling ME2 products and in this current market with medicaid and commerical plans it won't cut it...they have okay leadership but their RD's can't wipe their own ass without permission so you will not be able to use any of your brain if you have goo ideas...stick with media sales man...pharma is a dying breed...a lot of us want to get out and would love coming to a job like yours if we had the opportunity

I second this opinion...stay with your current job...this company and pharma in general will not allow you to use your brain...with this company you will go to training and memorize a 15 page script and they will expect you to go through it with every doctor even though the doctor's have 30 seconds to talk to you...then they will want you to leave success stories on how you made it through the whole presentation and committed the doctor to the next 50 patients...then TM will make you mark charts and do Prior Auth's and then Supernus will get fined and it will sink their ship...oh shoot, that's what he had us do for Shire and we will be getting a hefty fine for...STAY FAR AWAY

Translation: some people who I consider my friends but who really think I am a douche left for this opportunity. I am bummed b/c I realize that there is no one on this planet that thinks I am capable of doing anything other than being a Shire rep. But b/c I am still in denial about that fact I hang out on other company's boards and pretend to know what is going on so I can in some way feel like I have something to offer. Please believe that I am trying to offer a public service when I am really just trying to feel good about myself for 5 minutes out of the day. Thanks for listening.
