SkinMedica/Skinceuticals

Does anyone know anything about these two companies' cosmeceutical divisions? I want to know about pay, territory sizes, company cars, etc. I have 3 yrs. pharm experience in derm. Thank you.

People are dropping like flies from SkinMedica. I work there and the morale is really low. Upper management is arrogant and the company is extremely unorganized. No one knows their ass from a hole in the ground. Very high turn over.

Turnover seems high because the company is small, it is a great time to be involved with Skinmedica. I for one am ready to ride this pony till it wins the derby or drops dead.

You deserve all these different opinions for trying to do your homework on this bullshit site. I posted two of them saying exactly the opposite! Anybody can say anything about anything at anytime! Not the place to ask for advice my stupid little friend. I do it all the time when I see people asking for advice or company info on here. This piece of shit site has costs three of my friends their jobs by slander and rumour that fucked up, immature management believes. Therefore, I make it a point to post bullshit threads and replies all over the site, but mostly on the derm boards. And I am not the only one...........!!

Now for some real advice. If money is your only concern about working for one of these companies, you most likely wont do very well anyway. However, you can still mention your current salary on your initial contact with the company or recruiter to make sure you are in the game. IF not, they will gladly tell you right away that your salary is too high for what they can pay and very little time is wasted. As far as company info goes, go see a couple of derm offices in your area and ask the staff and docs about the company and what they might know about future products. Company web sites usually give some info about the future. If it's public, there is nothing you cant find out about pipeline and people. Do your own work!

Not familiar with Skinceuticals, but SkinMedica is a good company to work for. And you will be rewarded for good performance. Avg. rep in derm. sales will range in salary betw. $65-75k. If you aren't making at least $35k in bonuses, you are doing something wrong. There are a lot of positive things happening now at SkinMedica. A company that's growing there sales force, new product launches and about to go public. Sounds pretty good to me!

Thank you for the professional and courteous response. Which division do you think is better to work for, pharm or cosmeceutical? And why are there so many openings, is it expansion or turnover? Thank you.

It's both expansion and high turnover. The company seems to be spinning their wheels because the good people leave and the constant influx of new people keeps them from moving forward. They may be going public, but I don't think it means they're doing well. Company isn't profitable.

Both expansion and high turnover. The company rides on it's cosmeceuticals and their pharmceuticals aren't great, so I say Cosmeceuticals. Plus Chris Foy, the Rx Sales manager, is a jackass.

Yes, but SkinMedica is hiring all of their inside people into the new cosmeceutical positions because they can't stand working in the home office with all the BS. Good luck trying to get in if you aren't already an employee!

Okay, like someone from Southern Cali in home office is going to move to the midwest. Maybe the Long Island position is tempting, but Des Moines or some other god awful place?
By the way, Chris Foy is not a jackass by any means.

Is all of this about SkinMedica? Because Skinceuticals does not have a "Pharm" division....it is all cosm. If this is all about SkinMedica, then what about Skinceuticals? I have been hearing great things about his company for years. Hard to get in? Better than Big Pharma etc....Thanks

Skinceuticals is the better of the two companies - better known reputation - and I have heard it's competitive to get into a decent territory. Depends on where you're located.
