... labs!

I am pleased to announce more Solstas expansion news. Effective August 3rd, we have acquired Oracle Diagnostic Laboratories (Oracle) of Davie, Florida. This acquisition extends our service network into South Florida and provides an excellent growth opportunity for our company. Oracle is a highly regarded, full-service clinical laboratory with a recent emphasis in the toxicology sector.

The Florida market is a natural growth opportunity for our company and the acquisition of Oracle represents a significant Solstas investment and commitment to healthcare providers in this large state. As with our other recent acquisitions, Oracle is a very good match to our values and culture. They focus on partnership-based client service and building long-lasting customer relationships – both Solstas trademarks. Oracle CEO James Banner and his 100-employee team have continually delivered on their commitments to the South Florida market and, as a result, sport an impressive history of growth. I firmly believe the combination of Oracle and Solstas will create an even more powerful value proposition for the physicians and hospitals in that Florida market. I have no doubt the rich legacy of Oracle will be continued and enhanced through our merger. Personally, I am eager to begin working with James and his outstanding team.

The purchase of Oracle further strengthens our company, stretches our service network and creates new job opportunities for our workforce. As you have observed over the last 8 weeks, we have expanded our presence geographically south and west, aligned with highly respected regional labs and acquired some of the finest talent in the industry. Please join me in welcoming Oracle into the Solstas family and, on a closing note, I hope you share my excitement as we all participate in building a unique laboratory company.

Sincerely,

David Weavil

I am also very happy to hear of the acquisition. As an Oracle employee I'm excited to grow my business with new dimension and offer the broad spectrum of services that we now have.
It is a welcoming sigh to have a company such as Soltas with the same ethics and values as ours at Oracle to put forth our own footprint in our industry.

Anxiously awaiting more news!

Thank you, Carmine for the nice "trolling" post. As if someone who's company just got bought out is going to go on about the "same ethics and values as ours at Oracle", blah, blah, blah....

Welcome! We are excited to have you guys on the team and expanding the company further into Florida.

what does that mean?

It means... don't get caught up thinking you just reached the promised land 'cause baby it ain't true!

It means... CLEARLY some corporate troll posted the rah-rah message trying to put a positive spin on the whole deal.

Here is the deal: Solstas has made 6 acquisitions in the past two months. Oracle is the most recent but it is also the smallest and furthest geographically from Greensboro. Integrating the Roakoke, Knoxville and Valdosta labs has been a disaster so far and those have been in progress for two years. Now the resources are going to be spread thinner and dispersed over a larger area. Don't get excited thinking positive things are gonna happen for Oracle.

Oh, and when they tell you, "Don't worry, no one is losing their jobs. Everyone's job is safe." What they're really saying is, "We already know who/how many we're going to be firing, but don't panic and up and quit on us until we can get our claws sunk in deep; this way we can protect ourselves first!"

Welcome to Hell.

Ask DLI how things are going for their billing and customer service departments. Thats right, they don't have them anymore. So much for protecting the local feel.

They canned all the CSR? what about their sales reps? Considering Solstas/ Spectrum is not in Florida how do you think they will tackle that?

They will replace them with ExLabcorp and Quest people as soon as you can spit. First they'll just put your sales people on ridiculous and impossible to meet quotas... you know, so you "have a chance". If you don't need sleep, have any sort of life that involves any sort of attention short of your job, or are just extremely lucky, you MAY keep your job just long enough to hit the quota wall again. Like the other poster said "Welcome to Hell."

When in sales your expected to sell business. If you are working you will make your quota. Don't listen to the loser DLI rejects. They just didn't work and couldn't sell. They got a taste of the real world and couldn't take it.

OK. It is always easy to complain about change. What would you do? DLI was losing market share. Do you just keep doing what you always have or do you make changes?

Clearly this person has zero clue of what really goes on. As someone who has a better view than from the ground up I can safely assure you that we knew (and know) who we have plans to get rid of before they've made a single sale. We let go two excellent salespeople right off the start simply because of their length of time with DLI. It was a concern that their attitudes may not have been cohesive to our changes and the direction we were and are planning to move.

As for you new people, there is no reason to panic. It isn't Hell. We will replace you if you don't perform of course. Who wouldn't? Just understand that we also have plans to move in a direction and some of you will in fact be let go based on motives completely absent of past and present performance. This is the corporate way. It's rough. We aren't here to be your friend and family. We're here to make money. You're here to help us make more.

"We let go two excellent salespeople right off the start simply because of their length of time with DLI." But hey, no reason to worry. We don't give shit about that you're tenured AND successful - we've stereotyped you and predetermined that you are going to have an attitude problem because you are experienced and mature so we're gonna drop your @s$. Great philosophy - will work out well for everyone when Solstas sells to Quest next year!

Tenure does not equal successful.Attitude and being unwilling to change is not condusive to success. Failing to meet quotas that are reasonable is reason to be terminated.
