This is a result of LT being asleep at the switch while Lilly planned and strategized. NNI leaders here should have been planning for the end of the run. I think they just took it all in and said fuck it, cause they sure as hell didn’t have anything to offer the sales teams at POA. And how are we doing this year? Maybe it’s not the selling but rather the goals that suck?
Novo had the world in the palm of their hand at one point. They were smart enough to look into GLP1’s for weight loss and launch a couple of products: Sax & Weg.
Unfortunately, that’s where the brilliance ends. Instead of strategizing and planning and coming up with innovative ideas; Novo froze and literally let the world go by without pivoting to milk as much out of the demand as they could while they were the only ones on the market.
Novo’s answer to everything is “hire more reps”.. those fools at home office don’t understand that hiring more reps crippled access. How many times have you been at ‘the window’ and said “I have Wegovy samples” only for the front desk lady to say “we are good or your partner was just here, Come
Back some other time”.
Lilly was agressive about getting off the drug shortage list in order to rival & end compounding. Lilly came up with vials, Lilly came up with a lower cash price, Lilly partnered with Ro telemarketers, Lilly went to single portfolio selling.
What did Novo do? They left patients stuck in the dose escalation for 3 YEARS because folks couldn’t find the next dose!!! And here we are with our stock cut in half to $74 from $146.
Not sure if Negelle or Doug or Lars is to blame, but someone should be held accountable for letting this ship sink into oblivion.
