Synthes

Definitely going through. Trauma gone in September is my best guess

What do you mean 'gone'? Nothing is going to be 'gone'. JnJ is buying Synthes, they will merge product lines. Trauma products will be the best of Synthes with the best of DePuy (if they have anything better than Synthes). Same with Spine. Since DePuy doesn't have CMF, that whole line will stay the same, they will just put a DePuy sticker over Synthes.

Wow if you really think that is the case then you are in a for a rude awakening and have either been lied to or in denial. What do you think the hold up is? They will have to sell off products. Synthes will simply have a J&J tag on it...same thing happened to Depuy

The way that Synthes has been running for the past couple of years (overhiring, compliance scrutiny, morale) I see it as the perfect marriage partner for Johnson and Johnson. The only reason why you have not seen a massive exodus from Synthes yet is because people are waiting to see the pension and stock perks that most likely will not come their way when this deal goes through.

The other question is where can Synthes people go? Many are concerned that the company will enforce the no compete and they will be locked out of going somewhere else.
