What is the deal with the shell-game anyways? Is this just a botched marketing campaign or what? Does anyone really think that "3 injections in one" is really better that a 3 week course of the 2mL?

Who is the marketing genius that thought this one up?

What is next a 12mL injection every year? How about 120mLs once a decade? That will save site visit costs for sure. I'm sure the patients won't mind walking around with waterbaloons for knees.

Just curious...

Thanks for voting, but why do you guys think synvisc-one is better? All the clinical evidence shows higher complication rates, etc with the larger single injection. Also, it is quite telling that the company didn't do a head to head of synvisc-orignial flavor vs synvisc-one when it was released - don't you think?

Neither one is ethically good for you... Look What I saw on another blog. I looked up these studies and wow, I wouldn't use either one of the synviscs. Now Im going to look up Euflexxa.

Synvisc - Try to find a website like this regarding Euflexxa! Scary!

Oh and to the person that quoted (Wang) let's talk about that.....Let's ONLY take the studies that have somewhat good data and ONLY use them. My God you guys can make Agent Orange look good.

Everyone Look at these studies:
** Efficacy and Safety of Intraarticular Hylan or Hyaluronic Acids
for Osteoarthritis of the Knee (Juni)
** Inflammatory and Immunological Responses to Hyaluronan Preparations (R. A. Ottaviani, MD)

Why doesn't Genzyme quote these studies?

What makes Euflexxa better then? Boil it down to the basics, this is all hyaluronic acid, this shit has been around for years and no one can show how it works or why. All the clinical studies show a huge placebo response. No long term benefits.

At least the guy in the blog post was smart enough to find the FDA complaint database and post that on there. He sounds like a crack-pot though - what the hell is a brain tremor? I know people have reactions - but he probably isn't mentioning his unhealthy intake of sashimi causing his need for chelation therapy (for what is probably mercury poisoning). HAHA

Sounds like the only thing long and hard (as he put it) is the result of something the genzyme sales reps are doing to sell this stuff.
