The layoffs have begun!




lets see what BS is said on the conference call today...... we are strong with sales, blah blah blah, its Medicaid that hasn't paid us....... this had to be done.....
 






Missed the call because of a family issue. what was said? i thought the patent infringement suit would be the cure all? Another rep told me a patient got a $2700 bill and the doctor called her irate/ Said his group was done with SQNM. Jesus this sucks
 






There were around 8-9 sales reps let go the rest were from various departments at the home office. I think they only layed off a few sales reps because they know others will leave after this. If sales reps quit they do not have to pay severance so it's cheaper for them.
It's sad that SQNM can't get it's shit together after all this time. Our competitors don't seem to have the same struggles we do. BW, HH need to go!

Harry has nothing to do with this. This is 100% Bill's doing. If you are around him long enough you would understand why we are in this situation. He does a great job acting to secure leadership roles but when it comes down to making business decisions just look at his results. Case in point: He has dragged Mike around with him to help screw things up at the past 2 companies. This should be their last major role.

I love the lame excuses your management gave about a bad Q2 "code changes", people, there were no code changes!!! Sequenom had been accepting way to much Medicaid business, and Medicaid doesn't pay!! There is no positive medical policy for NIPT in any State Medicaid programs. All that Medicaid you peole have been accepting is biting you in the ass!! And with the nearly 100 reps on the pre-natal side, it's a recipe for disaster.

To everyone laid off by upper management incompetence:
The official word is those BDMs laid off were all on performance programs and would have been fired anyway. Whew there for a minute it was the senior management actually taking responsibility for their poor decision making. Wrong again I guess I will never be a senior manager.
 


I know several of the reps laid off were not on performance plans....don't believe the rumors . RBD's had input as to who was let go. So if you weren't liked by your RBD you were let go.

The follow two posters are as ignorant as senior management. First they were not let go for performance but geography. The RBDs are Mike's puppets and are not allowed to give input. Don't blame the RBD for the mismanagement of this place. Most of the BDMs and RBDs are good people.
 


Which territories are next? Better figure out the likelihood of your tests getting paid and by how much. Nonprofitable territories arent likely to be around for long. Oh I forgot you are already on a double super secret performance plan anyway

Above from another thread (analysis according to Ed). Based on this, nearly half of the BDMS will ultimately be let go. Just too much expense for what we're offering the test for, what the test will "fetch", given new players. And with the top people in the company making what they're making, not to mention all the other managers, it's absurd that anyone thought our ability to make money could overtake our burn amount and rate.

The company is top heavy. The co is not run efficiently and lean like some of our competitors. Some decisions have appeared wishy-washy to the outside, disjointed, uncertain (billing). It's not a tightly run ship. There is not a spirit of cooperation within, pulling together to accomplish a vision, all being on the same team. There is a spirit of ego and pride coming from some of the management. There are a lot of closed door meetings; but effective, innovative, visionary changes do not follow, or if so, not as quickly as our competitors. Competitors are eager, hungry, Johnny-on-the-spot. We are slow, "I'm entitled", Johnny-come-lately. Communication is subpar. Unfortunately for many of us, the management leopards won't change their spots. It might be time to look to your own future, elsewhere, as I am.
