The new Branchburg

That should be the least of your worries.

Once they are with the chopping in Asia Pac and Europe/Canada, US is next since they cannot physically accommodate everyone in Branchburg, even with the silly neighbourhood concept.

They have no intention of having a seat for everybody assigned to the building. The plan is 700 seats for 1000 people. While makes perfect sense since nobody ever shows up anyway. On any given day attendance is about 40%.

I cannot believe they actually went around and collected all the monitors today.... Some of us do actual work and can't work full time on a laptop screen. Let alone the ergonomic issues with working on a laptop. Can really screw with your back to have the hands up that high on the desk...

Off to Branchburg on Monday...kind of curious to see how this will all work.

And then in a few weeks, the Axe will fall...ugh! Let's just say that I enjoyed the time off.

Let's see. They are taking away the fitness center, credit union, health services and off-site daycare. We are losing our cubicles, our own space, phones, monitors and keyboards.

We have to use smelly lockers to hold our stuff and management asks us if we are excited?
Oh yeah, massive layoffs coming too.

Anyone I talked to on the second floor in WS using the open concept hated it. At least they had their own desk. Don't see how you will be able to concentrate in Branchburg at all.
Has disaster written all over it.

Only saving grace is if I can work from home several days a week.

For those of us who have lived in Branchburg since its inception, we lost the credit union, health services and any resemblance to a cafeteria way back when. I'd kill for a decent salad bar. Be thankful your pain was delayed. Work from home when you can and buckle up. 2015 will be extremely difficult - any efforts to make it seem "normal" will fall flat as we see our friends and colleagues leave. Its all business, so we cant take it personally. I don't envy Clarke and the LT. Everyone has their marching orders and "you know what" flows downhill. Good news is the market is not bad out there - start reaching out to test the waters in case the worst comes.

Have to agree with the above. Problem is, some leadership doesn't want their folks to stay home and want people to show up in Branchburg.

I just hope they reveal their plans and folks are notified EARLY in 2015. It'd be crazy if this was delayed any further.

Agreed - its been too long, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Quite frankly, (sorry, one voice speaking for presumably many) I think we're all tired of waiting and would rather have bad new early vs later - emotionally we need to move one.

There's no moving on even for those that stay. We all have expiration dates let it be this year or next or the one after.

The only folks moving on are the ones moving onto the unemployment line.../

It was quite the party at the Burg today…

Actually, it was kind of nice. Been in BRN for quite some time now - its good to see some activity and also people you normally don't get to see because they were in Cokesbury, WHS etc. This was day 1 and the participation numbers will drop (for many reasons), but there is a lot more life there than has been in the past. Forget about eating at Avenue "C". That's a joke with all of these people. ShopRite has decent food (subs, pizza, salad bar and hot bar) which you can bring back or eat there, and there are of course the obligatory pizza, sandwich, Chinese etc around the corner. Hillsborough is not far and has many offerings for the occasional lunch away. I think many will brown-bag as well.
