Yeah, timing could have been better. However, by being officially assigned to Branchburg, there may be some financial benefits to those that are separated. Can't say anymore, but they played it smart and based on what I heard, in the best interest of the employees. Take it for what its worth, but that is my opinion and I'm pretty sure I'm on the dreaded "list" so have a stake in the game. We need to remember that it's just business and this will help meet the $2.5B reductions promised to Wall Street. Don't have any comforting words and I'm not defending the LT - everyone has their marching orders from Ken all the way down and you can either be a total dick and not care about the people or you can recognize the impact to everyone and do whatever you can to help those that are leaving. Pretty sure its the latter. Buckle up, its gonna be a tough ride next week. Best of luck to all and for those of us that are affected, remember that there is life after Merck and the market is not bad. Recommend you poke around on job sites etc and see for yourself. Will make you feel better in the event you are also on the list.
