Time to Get Used to it

The reality of the situation, that we are all going through........is the future of this industry. Uncertainty and the total disregard of loyal and hard working employees is what we have to look forward to, not just at Abbott, but everywhere else as well. So, what's the solution? Accept the fact that we have a 50%/50% chance of getting laid off every couple of months, get yourselves emotionally and financially ready and do the job that we get paid to do. Everyone tries to figure out....who, why, when....and it's virtually impossible. I know that it is just human nature and that's why, I myself have also been obssessed with this site since Monday. I think it's time to give it a rest and let things just play out. I wish you all good luck and peace of mind.

Well said! Hey, we are all stressed about this situation... it's human nature. Some are better than others dealing with it or pretending it doesn't bother them. If you're not stressed, than you are probably financially secure enough to not need to deal with this BS in the first place. Either way, I look at this board as a way to vent and realize my feelings about this company and this shitty situation are shared by others as well. Good medicine for me.... along with this fatty I'm about to light up before the webinar!

You hit the nail on the head! There is a complete correlation between people that need the paycheck to survive and the people who don't "need" the money but its nice to have. For the people that aren't stressed about money, you should not judge us who are! Everyone handles the uncertainty differently and I wish nothing more than to not worry about it but I can't turn it off. I just want to know either way and move on!

Look, we all know the industry is changing and unstable. We all know Abt can't promise us job security. But, I don't understand why they can't just tell us that we are safe for the next 3-6 months! They definitely know that time line. Even 3 months is a selling period and reps would be so much more productive if they knew there wouldn't be any changes for the next 3 or so months. Doesn't mean people wouldn't be looking for a job but it would stop the frantic chaos that is going on right now. This company is very short sighted!
