uh oh!

im hearing about HUGE cuts to our mutation tests! like HUGE!! is this for real??!! EGFFR testing down to like 100 bucks!

Does anybody know a ballpark figure for medicare reimbursement for 10 color flow as opposed to 8 color? Is it even enough to make up for the increased reagent and instrumentation costs? I don't think reagent costs are going down, but I know reimbursements are, so why the rush to pay more for something you get paid less for?

Did you go to training? Payments are based on the numbers of markers run. 10 color allows for smaller specimens to yield result. FNBs for example. Medicare is probably looking at cutting the TC on flow markers. Check out Palmettos new rates in CMS.

Flow is headed for the same fate as chemistry panels experienced in th 90's. IHC is already there.
