Your warn notice is NOT severance; FYI severance is what you get after your employment ends. Stocks worth 34k, so I put you as one of the 10% of WC reps over two years, also WC has a simple policy "NO REP" gets a salary over 100k. Based alleged stock values, I put your tenure at 4 years tops.
Typical WC rep comes in with zero experience, so salary likely started at no more than 55k. Even if you got 5% raises each year, you would be at no more than 70k or so in salary. Now lets do the math.
- Allgedly 35k in stock - After sale = 28K
- 3 months of severance (nothing special here) = 23,000(minus taxes and soc sec)= 16K
- 50 k Payout for a trimester, for a top 20% rep? Stop Lying, remember I was there, top 5% tops out at 25K. Top 20% gets no more than 15K, after taxes = 9K
Now lets add it all up 28k+16K+9K= 53,000, give or take 10K...well young fella, thats good but not great. Consider this as a sr. manager:
- I get 24 weeks (6months) of severance - >75k = 50k after taxes
- Guaranteed stock grants of 40,000/year for last 6 years, with current value 292K = 240k after taxes
- Guaranteed annual bonus of 20% of my salary = 18K after taxes
TOTAL = 308k payout. Compare the 308 vs the 53k. Now Directors, Sr. Directors get even better, and they have been around to accumulate more. My original point was that your 50-60k bring home is peanuts compared to the guaranteed 7 figures that marc, sirine, lenny will bring home.
Again, you will now have to go out and compete with people that actually have real pharma experience with real legit companies. You will bring limited years of experience and carry the WC stench. Just look at what Actavis did, companies will run from you a mile a minute. In a year, the change that you receive will be gone, pooof! you will need every dime of it. If I were you I wouldnt brag, as it really a rather light package, really its just OK, and nothing special.
If you look at some of the layoffs from real companies, they would give 3-6 months as a start, then tack on 2-3 years for every year that you worked, plus medical benefits for the time period. Sorry to burst your bubble Mr. McStench
