WC known as........

WC is known as a company that is hard to work for, a meat grinder yes, and a company that pays for performance. (Like actually pays) So instead of your cushy 10 to 2, UPS job that pays nothing we actually are respected in spaces that pay more money than pharma. (Like Device, Capital Equipment or Diagnostics) Most recruiters for the better jobs wont even consider "big pharma" if you have been in it for more than 3 years. No recruiter or new company (Device, Capital Equipment or Diagnostic company) cares about some investigation that 99% of the employees know nothing about or care about. Yes our training was horrible and a joke. Yes they hired a bunch of people with no experience right out of college. (Which actually annoyed me being that I had 5 yrs sales experience) Yes they hired people with limited sales experience. Yes I felt more competent than any of my DMs and felt I could sell better than they could. That being said if you did good at Warner and can prove it recruiters will not stop calling. I get calls every other day and I hope all my fellow WC peeps do to. Sit back and enjoy the severance, go on vacation, relax and take a breath. It may not be a windfall but I'm looking at at least 30k..(yes after taxes) Not even including the bonus. So we will still get jobs and be getting paid double income while you "haters" who have nothing to do but post negative posts on OTHER companies websites will be still be doing your same UPS job. So I don't really care what I'm "known as"...go post something meaningful on your own company board. Its all about the interview and how you "spin" your experience and tailor it for the prospective company.

PS...Pharma is SOOOO boring anyway...I was happy to get laid off. That being said it was the easiest low 100k plus job ive ever had, not including the company car, the stock, the gas card and the expense account. Either way, we are all lucky to make this much money (better than 90%) of the US population, to drive around and BS with Doctors and we will likely get better jobs on the flip side. Here's to getting a better job and and enjoying severance. Peace...

Sorry, WC did NOT pay more than other companies. What you stated is simply a bald faced falsehood. Average salary at WC was under 65k, well under the industry average. The bonus structure was around the industry average, NOT higher. Thats right, the target bonus was around 30k/year, again the same as any other primary care pharma sales company. If you are in the top 5% every trimester you made 75k in bonus, (250% of target) again, the same as most other primary care sales organizations, and 30% less than most specialty pharma sales. Also, at WC if you were not in the top 70% you got ZERO. Most other sales organizations dont use relative rank, they use quotas; and if you are at 95% of quota you get paid. LAstly, medical device, capital equipment, etc MIGHT have more bonus potential, but DO NOT have higher salaries in general. And if you take away the big boys, these jobs are pure garbage, just like selling copiers, cars, etc. The streets are littered with "medical device" reps making 35k or less salaries, with no car expense etc. These high turnover companies, are the only companies that would hire pharma reps with no direct experience. The big boys would not touch anyone with pharma sales background, becuase pharma "sales" is not really sales. They generally laugh at pharma reps, and say "pharma reps need not apply". So yes, if you want device, capital equipment (like selling copiers. no difference), you have to cut your teeth with a low/ or no base sweat shop first, build expereince, then go to a reputable company. Anyone who tells you that they are a pjharma rep, and have great device companies calling everyday is lying to you. If you dont believe me, just

If you had five years of pre WC sales experience you would not need me to tell you that your post was pure garbage.

HAHA. No way in Hell a Warner Chilcott employee is getting a CRM job. Lets look at the requirements again, 3 years of medical DEVICE experience, not Pharma, which doesn't matter since a senior rep at Warner Chilcott has only been there for 2 years, so disqualified on both accounts. and requires you to have CRM or EP experience, in which I can assure you that the type Warner Chilcott hires is usually the young dumb cheerleader types. Just look at some of the managers if you don't believe me. I have met a couple exceptional Warner Chilcott employees, but they are the exception, and certainly not the rule. I would start hunting not if you want to get a job in Feb with a larger medical company. Large companies normally take a couple months just to finalize the paperwork and that is after they have decided to hire you. Just a tip, take it or leave it.

Dont even bother, a legit med decice, etc company is simply not going to hire a pharma "sales" rep from any company (in 99.9% of cases); let alone Warner Chilcott.

For sure...there are a lot of WC haters out there. (Mostly other sales reps) The fact of the matter is, recruiters see us as different that regular pharma. We were stack ranked and competed against each other and if we didn't rank out we were gone. Most other pharma companies get paid to drop samples and work in a Pod. Not saying everyone at this company is cut out for device, lab sales or capital equipment but if any pharma sales force is, it is the WC sales force. So go get that 150 to 250k job and take the next step, enjoy your family during the holidays while your still getting paid and get that paper!!

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

Not true at all. I saw the writing on the wall last year and decided to get out. I had recruiters calling me left and right. Now I have a higher paying (both base and bonus), more stable, and much more fulfilling job with an extremely reputable device company.

To anyone who lost their job and is scared and reads these posts telling you that you're garbage and won't find anything else - don't listen. Warner Chilcott isn't a huge black mark on a résumé. Just like anything else, it's all about how you sell yourself. Use WC as a selling point - tell them that success at WC isn't the same as success at other Pharma companies. You weren't in a pod, you weren't just a sample dropper. You were actually expected to sell and drive results all on your own. Say whatever you want, but SELL IT!

Oh, and in the ad for my new job, it specifically said "Pharma reps need not apply." Who cares. Apply anyway.

Ignore the haters and be thankful for what you have.

I do believe you. I saw an ad for CEO of a Medtronics. It required significant experience, but with my 15 months of stenchy Warner Chilcott experience, I applied anyway, and...

BOOM! I got the job! Of course Im gonna wait out my Actavis WARN period, so I can get my severance and 7k in stock. I will start at Medtronics on Feb 1 2014; need I even say, I got a 100 fold increase in base pay, and the incentive package is out of this world.

My fellow stenchites, do not believe anyone who tells you that you are not the cream of the available crop. Your inexperience is a virtue. You are the ONLY reps that "sold" without benefit of a pod. YOU, know how to "hold the doctor accountable"; YOU, know how to "have difficult discussions" with the prescriber; YOU know how to get the script by any means necessary, You know how to make all of your targets into speakers and spread the wealth; YOU know how to take your key prescribers AND their wives to dinner, oops I meant "med eds" 17 times a trimester. YOU know how to complete that prior auth quickly and deftly. YOU, have the finest training in all of the land, and led by the best trained and most experienced management in the industry. YOU are the soccer balls who were kicked, BUT never deflated!

YOU carry the honor, the badge of survival. YOU carry the aromatic Stench of Warner Chilcott! Everybody wants you, now go get em!

Yeah right, only an inexperienced idiot would believe this post. A reputable device company is going to require at least a few years of device experience, just look at the ads. They rarely hire drug reps from any company, the reason is that Pharma Sales is not really "sales" at all. So you want us all to believe that thanks to nyour 10 months at Warner Chilcott, you were able to beat out all of the experienced drug reps from real drug companies, as well as al of the unemployed device reps with real device experience? Riiiiiiight!
