Does everyone realize that we are all hospital reps making in the 80k range now? Most are making 100-120 base in pharma hospital only territories...so we have way more responsibility and are paid at least 20000 below average. Time to find a new job!!!
 

it was actually kind of funny to hear them say that all the bss's are now also hospital reps. oh, and you have 10k added to the incentive plan. NOT the base comp, but the incentive end.

They didn't sound too reassuring; must have been beat up badly on the CMM call at 10am.

maybe I am an idiot, but I am really happy to have a decent job. every paycheck is another paycheck, more funds into the retirement plan, another few weeks of medical insurance. the reality is, this structure should have happened 3 or 4 years ago. Our jobs are not difficult and adding in a few hospitals is a welcomed venture. makes sense to me. sorry to see my friends go.

agreed re 3-4 yrs ago and good idea yes, but adding the load of the hospitals to bss role is too much. how many hosp reps do you know that also have the outpatient responsibilities, plus another product on top of that? As OP said, add in that most solo hosp reps are into 6 figures just for base pay while bss (the whole group, on average) barely hit 6 figs with incentive comp added in.

still happy 2 have a job. i just hope my dumbass manager leaves me alone now that there are less people to harass.
 
I agree sorry to see many good people go, but our pay isn't enough for hospital coverage. You can't get blood from a stone. So much for effective territory management.
 
Most people feel terrible about what the CMMs have to face. I think what is frustrating is that they let the CMMs go AND are not going to pay us even a fraction of what the CMMs made. Some CMMs were fantastic...some not so much. At the end of the day, the company is taking home the profits; not the BSS's left and not the CMMs lost.
Medi looks about as good as when they raise the price of Syn year after year, and fewer babies can access. And its all for the patient. Is it?

Quit your whining. If you think you can walk out your door and find a comparable job, please let me borrow your 4 leaf clover. There are more reps looking for jobs than those that have jobs in the industry..no one is safe and you better bust your a** to keep what you have. Otherwise you will end up in a fantastic job selling real estate....which might include my house if I don't find something soon!

you are so right. Medi has those remaining BSSs by their proverbial balls! They are going to work the hell out of us.
 
Wow sounds like MedImmune is screwing you guys when it comes to salary!! Most of AZ's hospital are paid a 6 figure salary. How many of you guys were fired this week? AZ has plans for layoffs the beginning of next year, so it will be our turn then.
