What is with HR?

As in any group there are good people, bad people and some in between. I do think however, that our HR group has declined in their ability to be objective. Generally, they take the side of management since they are the one's who provide them with feedback for their performance ratings. If any employee thinks HR is neutral then they would be wrong.

Is it just me or are these people completely incompetent??? Are there any HR people in J&J who actually know what they are doing?

Several years ago when someone had the brilliant idea to outsource HR (a huge mistake that they are still paying dearly for) they laid off all of the strong HR career people and basically kept all 20'something HR generalists. These generalists cannot make a decision on their own without consulting legal. They are useless and have no people experience like some of those who are long gone now. Bring back Stan D!

Set your expectations low if you need to engage HR for any issue in general, and more so Consumer HR - if that's where you happen to work. It is the most dysfunctional organization within a dysfunctional corporation.

Many competent HR directors were turned out in the 2009 reorg and were replaced with shall-we-say not very competent but politically correct directors who are nigh useless.

HR leadership is now comprised of a gaggle of entrenched girlfriends protecting each other, the likes of CAG's installed girlfriends who nearly destroyed Consumer - petulant, incompetent, elitist hags.

They all need to be retired or replaced but the HRLDP grads are more of the same.
