What's up with Melinta?




This place is a hot mess. Huge turnover within the last 2 years. Tons of reps left and nearly all of the original MSLs resigned too. More resignations to come when Spero starts hiring. There have been 5 CEOs in the past 5 years. The current one is clueless and her cronies are just as incompetent about antibiotic sales. The VP of Sales is a micromanager and speaks poorly of the salesforce behind their backs.The CCO is punching way below his belt in this position. He has no idea what he is doing and only came here because he was laid off from Baudax Bio AND he laid off the salesforce at that company when they’re drug performed poorly. Ask him or any of them about antibiotics and they will not have a response other than “we’re the best drug!”The only person worth their salt was McGuire whom the CEO fired a few years ago. He was the best thing about this company and supported the salesforce. The Market Access team is run by a bunch of bullies…mostly women who are ruthless and cut throat. The VP of Marketing is a PharmD who is out of touch with reality. She is the reason that Kimyrsa has done so poorly. Vab is a good drug, but the company hasn’t invested money into further indications. It has been said before, but if you need the job, take it, but most don’t come here willingly. You’ve been warned. Toxic, toxic culture.

They need to cut down and talk about everyone so they feel better. Mary and Cecily, aren't you responsible for getting Kimyrsa on IDN's? How come we never see any data on that metric? Because there is none and that would mean you haven't done your job. When you ask them a question they get incredibly defensive. Why does senior management kiss their ass? Because they don't want to confront them, that takes effort to work to be one Melinta, right Christine, Kristin, Jen and John. You know this behavior is going on and you do nothing to address it. You forced one of the best market access persons in the business, Darren Moore, because you didn't agree with him? Or Mary and Cecily, was he just a threat because he knows what he is doing and the both of you equal a quarter deck of cards.

Chrisitne, you want to know why know participates on your calls? Because they know it is all fake, one Melinta, I got your back, etc. bullshit. If you had our backs, you would this behavior. But you don't care, you only care about you own PR, so sad.

So, I am not a poor performer or angry. I am disappointed in you and your entire EC. Your head of HR and legal don't want to deal with any type of confrontation and who knows where the hell John is?

All accurate! This place is a dumpster fire. And those at the top should be fired for a failed launch. As for other losers…Jorge plays golf daily too!

All accurate. I wonder when someone will wake up and start putting some of these aforementioned people on notice. This company is a sinking ship. How much longer will Deerfield support it? The launch was a failure. Since we are mentioning losers…how about Jorge? Word is that he’s playing golf daily too!
 




Wow, I knew she worked for him in the past, but had no idea that he didn't like her, but does anyone like her here? I think the writing is on the wall for her - and many others - with the products performing so poorly. Furthermore, as much as I dislike Jill, I still think he would be awful at her job. He is unintelligent, disorganized, and just plain clueless.
 


I am not sure all this is true and I think the focus is in the wrong place. Sounds like someone has a problem with Kim but do you think she is the cause of the problems at the company? Let's look at this logically.
First, you are correct that Christine and all the EC members fly first class no matter how short a flight it may be, a lot of money to feed peoples egos.
Second, who cares what the new office looks like while most of us work from home and in fact most of the folks in the "home office" work from home. The office is once again all about Christine to feed her ego and let her feel like she is running a big company.
Third, how many people are we going to hire for business development? I think there are 3 or 4 people that probably have rather large salaries. The good news is they have provided us a generic drug and an anti fungal that has yet to be approved.
Four, our management team has no relationships with any KOL's. Molly hasn't been in the field since she came to the company, even with the launch of Kimyrsa.
Five, some people are selling a lot of Orbactiv but not being compensated, the company is winning there and we are losing. I know we want to drive Kimyrsa but Orbactiv is still providing millions of dollars to the company.
Six, lets be honest, they loaded sales of Kimyrsa at the end of September at one POIC and Molly tells us the trend is increasing. Funny how this sale happened and a few weeks later there is a board meeting, I can't imagine Deerfield is that stupid but then again who knows. It is in one POIC account and what happens when the ASP drops since I am sure we had to give the account a good discount to get that volume. What do we do when the ASP drops since there are limited WAC sales to offset the discount.
Seven, does anyone really know what we offer accounts anymore, no transparency at all. Management doesn't trust us to have these discussions with our accounts, we were able to but now we can't. Other companies allow the reps to talk about contracts, not the spread but contracts.
Eight, I don't know how Jill is still in her position either. Enough said.
Nine, John may be playing golf since isn't in the field and from I understand the office. That may be a blessing since I am not sure he could have a conversation with customers.
Ten, Melinta has become a company where you can't disagree or disapprove. So much for all the culture stuff that Christine brought with her. I think we all see that it is all for show.
Finally, all the money on planes, offices, hiring all the internal people cost money. Our customers look for new data. How about investing in our products with some studies and instead fly coach, or just have a Keurig coffee machine instead of a coffee bar, or not hiring all the internal people.

Just goes to show you the type of culture this company supports when they go and promote Cecily. All fake, all smoke and mirrors. She constantly talks down to the KAMs…sometimes to their faces, but mainly behind their backs. Funny how Jill speaks so lovingly of her publicly, but those in the know have heard the way she really feels about her.
