Where's the innovation?

There should new innovative products coming out left and right to treat oncology. Right now, it seems like the business is going through a long string of high profile failures.

This area is still viewed as a high priority area but where's the beef? Never thought that oncology would be so hard to find new openings, job growth, sales force expansions, etc.

Some failures but most of the small development companies are being gobbled up by big pharma and big pharma like Novartis for example are expanding but they are promoting from within. There take is why pay a veteran oncology rep a six figure base salary when they can pull from the ranks of primary care or specialty and pay them $80K. There are very few oncology based small bio/pharms left and those that are generally have partnerships or are partly owned by a big pharma.
