Why are there no posts for this company?

such as:....?
wall street types seem to think that its Parexel's turn to shine, Quintiles was the golden child in the late 90's, then it was PPD's turn and financial types think that its now Parexel who is performing well financially. maybe its just that pharma cycles through cro's - like them because they don't know them well, give them lots of work, learn to hate them and move on to another one.
their perceptive informatics may actually be well prepared to combat whatever Oracle is up to with its PhaseForward purchase

I'm curious to know what kind of company it is to work for, Parexel and Perceptive Informatics? I have seen several job postings on different sites. I know about the tragic European clinical study on healthy subjects where several of them died and ended up in intensive care several years ago. Was Parexel's reputation hurt by that at all, or is financial success the only thing that matters when it comes to the reputation of a company?

PXL is 100% bottom-line driven. The senior management tend to be contractors whose contract extention hinges on profitability of their units. Expect to work hard - very hard. Layoffs happen about the time that a manager's contract is due to be re-upped. The managers will cut indiscrimiately to save their jobs. I left because the dollar was king and quality took a back seat. It can be a burnout culture.

Their medical communications division is a disaster. This includes the sub-companies PAREXEL MMS, PPSI, Perceptive etc. They work you to death but you are paid well for it. In the end though, it is nearly impossible to find a work-life balance if you are working in one of these divisions. A 40-hr work week is rare;I think the only week I worked only 40 hours was my first week as I was in orientation. I take my company paid vacations and work the majority of the time. My cell phone rings constantly and I am expected to answer it. The clients are demanding and since they pay the bills, management folds to any request no matter how unrealistic.

Job descriptions are vague and performance reviews are oftentimes used as a means of reprimand.

Their bonus programs favor the people that are the "favorites" with the clients. Some people eligible for a bonus will never get one simply because they are not asked to participate in any new business activities. Other times, employess that are not eligible for the bonus but their ass on a proposal and pitch and when the company gets the business, they get nothing. We are eligible for bonuses based on our position title. Most of us go far above and beyond our roles, but it doesn't seem to matter.

Salary increases are fairly average at about 5% or so. There are exceptions, that I have heard about but I have no first hand knowledge.

The benefits package is very nice. Health insurance, ironically, is costly but the coverage is superior. I think you can negotiate and extra week's vacation.

Human resources is a joke unless you deal with someone at PAREXEL International in Lowell, MA. Heaven help you if you are laid off or fired. I have heard nightmares about COBRA benefits being cancelled on a regular basis due to payments that are technically late (but within the 30 day priod). HR reps, and managers for that matter, are not informed about FMLA and time off. I know of a case where a person left the company after being on FMLA due to breast cancer. She wanted to and tried to come back to work with a flexible schedule so she could get her treatments and they gave her the runaround. In the end, they gave her a severance package for which she had to sign away her right to ever pursue a lawsuit against them. I should not even know that this person has breast cancer; no respect for privacy, or the law for that matter at PAREXEL. If you have any doubts, run a google search and see what you find. Tons of lawsuits by former employees. I am not looking forward to the next round of layoffs....I may become one of those former employees.

Bottom Line: Strong company with an excellent reputation, looks good on your resume, but you will be worked to death with little appreciation.

There should be many posts. Management is a joke. No room for advancement. No organization, lack of training. Parexel hires temps thru Sparks and there is no background check for employees. They do hire felons via Sparks and some mid-level "specialists" do have felony convictions. Call Center mis-managed and no checks and balances are maintained. No one knows how long they can remain in business with the lack of knowlege and mis-management going on...for years.

This is an absolutely true statement! There is no leadership. Top heavy with management, so called management works from home. No accountability. Work load is not balanced. They work staff to the bone, data/research is a joke. Reimbursement knowledge is outdated and nonexistent with most staff. The felon is still working there and has been for many years and there are probably more...it is not known how they are in business!

This is by far the worst company I have ever worked for and I have over 10 yrs. experience in the industry working at both big pharma and other CROs. 70 hours a week or more is not unusual. Unrealistic work expectations. Forget about sleeping too. My project teleconferences started at 6:30AM. Colleagues were burned out and one was seeing her doctor for anxiety and stress-related health issues. NO direction from upper management. Useless 4 hr. meetings (I mean brainwashing sessions) that kept you away from running your projects. Reprimanded for declining these pointless drivel sessions in order to catch up on running your projects. High turnover due to total burnout. I lasted 2 mos. All I can say is don't do it...

I took a job there as a contractor through Aerotek. Total joke! Misrepresented the work and obligations to a strict 1099 contractor. Quit in 4 weeks. Complete unorganized joke. Aerotek peddled them hard. There is an issue when 1/2 of their employees are contractors.

I've been here 5 years and it has gone from barely bearable to totally absurd. In the last year it is literally mayhem.

There has been nor do we see any, real efforts to create systemic change. This cannot continue.

Why would you remain in that type of environment for 5 years? There are other companies out there. Life is too short to be miserable at work for an extended period of time. Good luck
