Why make a launch easy when you can make it complex?

why can they not just tell the truth about what happened? The townhall Q&A was a joke, someone screwed up and they know it
The sad part is that any line extensions that are planned for their psoriasis drug will likely not be accepted for review until this is minor speed bump is fixed. That is sad for a company that values getting medicine to patients with unmet needs....and yet quality is probably celebrating that that they didnt have bigger issues from the regulatory inspection.

For those who are complaining about UCB. Please go and compare other companies’ toxic cultures.
Also let’s remind ourselves our growth in the last 10 years.

This micro manage culture isn’t the place to be, you can get off the soap box. Look at how they reward growing this decade plus old drug, by making goals unattainable. It’s ridiculous, go count the Veeva clicks

So the resubmission has gone in. When will the people responsible for this mess be held accountable??

Never. They will likely be promoted and celebrate the successful resubmission.

Truth. Derm leadership is like a who’s who of the biggest rejects and misfits in the industry. The head of sales has been ousted from multiple companies under a cloud of scandal ranging from sexual harassment to discrimination to unethical hiring practices.

I'm a retired derm who loves to read these and other boards for laughs.

If you were serious about selling, you should hire the Otezla sales force. Take a look at what they did. Product barely works and 1/5 have GI affects with first swallow. They don't even have a KOL team. Their marketing doesn't engage with any Academic Medical Centers. When they first came in my office around 2014, I laughed at them.

Billions upon billions of sales later, I stand corrected.

Just goes to show what you can do if you have an engaged and well rewarded sales force that doesn't do dumb things like fill my email up with your silly "omni channel" emails. They just came in every single week, took care of my staff and gave me samples and only took about 45 seconds of my time. Over and over and over.

Anyway, just the thoughts of a retired guy.

Right, Otezla Karen!

Did the Otezla also bring the PA lunch in the 45 seconds they were in & out?
Did they pretend to be your friend and then attend to favors where there were no paper trails?
Did they also have much higher % of "eye-candy" than UCB sales reps?

UCB had a few smoke shows back in the day. I remember one with an insane body.

again, I am a retired Derm who still loves to travel to attend meetings, but my recollections:

Did Otezla rep show up the day after they were approved for PSA with only a PI selling me in a derm office? YES.
Did the Otezla rep become our office favorite? YES
Did my Otezla rep look like a model? YES

All that ended last year. Back up just a bit. I used to have 2 Amgen Enbrel reps who occasionally visited my clinic. They got to where they just sent us lunches but never showed up. Then they simply stopped altogether. When my Otezla rep became an Amgen rep, they no longer came by every week. Their "service" with our bio-coordinator degraded. She left and went to a device company that sells our clinic diagnostic tests now. We don't see her like we used to, but at least she seems happy, like her old self. Her replacement wears pant suits and looks like a PTA president elect. She is mean and we don't let her back unless she has a lunch. She passes her iPad back for signatures, leaves samples and sends us lots of emails.

For the record, I like my UCB rep but I don't understand why he won't have HS as well? Makes zero sense, but again I am retired and only go for lunches where I like the rep. I see your guy Ben because he gets it. For the Otezla rep, we are now, "no see"

Old pervert. Got it!

not gonna lie, I like hot women.

Still, I've never seen any rep for any company except maybe the early Medicis reps, that hustled and got all our business like the early Celgene reps. And man, did they throw some wild parties at AAD. Weren't advertised of course and you had to be in the know with the rep, but that parties were astonishing.

So now you have women that aren’t prostitutes for a pharma company. The industry has evolved. We like brains too. Crazy right?!
