From time to time we all probably wonder how well we’re doing compared with other reps in our industry, but I haven’t seen any recent posts with real world comparisons.

I’ve been in the industry for 23 years, all as a rep and work for a smaller company focused on rare diseases. Base pay is 165K and bonus at plan is 60K per year which I was fortunate enough to far exceed.

Add in yearly stock grants of 50K and 850 per month plus mileage for a car allowance. Signed up for the best benefits for my family which are 600 per mo.

401k match is 100% up to 6% and espp offers a 15% discount capped at a 10% of salary.

Anyone in a similar role care to share?

Similar. Large biotech, 21 years. $168,000 base. Bonus at plan near $40,000 (like you always exceeded that in my 6 years). Great healthcare benefits. Company car with everything paid and spouse can use. Unlimited budget for lunches and dinners.

401K match at dollar for dollar up to $15,000 a year. ESPP up to 10% of salary at 15% discount. RSU stock granted yearly usually between $15,000 to $35,000.

200 + grand to be a drug rep...great gig for sure...

But obscene and indicative of a corrupt industry that plays by its own economic rules...

No other industry pays people like this for essentially part time work schmoozing health
care professionals...

none of it makes any sense.

20 years in bio pharma. Ended up in a toxic situation and had to leave. Went to diagnostics. It’s a fun gig and Docs return my emails and take my calls. Hybrid role of 1/2 sales and 1/2 working with clinical operations to help place trials in academia. Heavy heavy work load like nothing I’ve experienced in pharma. I also had to take a base cut to $150. Sucks. $60 bonus @ target. No stock, way below average benefits. I’m already looking to get another bio pharma gig and get back to a better base and get the stock. The diagnostic gig is really interesting, but the cut in pay due to the lack of stock and crap 401 match sucks. I know several people who have dabbled in diagnostics and got back into pharma as soon as they could.

$200k for being a lazy, ass licking loser is a good wage. For the truly talented....not such a good wage.

$200k base or $200k total?

My $187k base adding bonus and stock vest put me well over $400 for the last few years. $1k car allowance (which I rarely drive) bought me a new $60K car a few years ago.

Say what you want about being a “drug rep”, but it will be a nice career for me

its they're genius. im so glad we didnt hire you

Yawn. Your posts are consistent, idiotic and boring

Wrong, stupid. You need to be licensed if you sell securities. Anyone can give stock advice. Shut, the fuck, up. Regardless of how stupid you sound and look, you continue to post. Your obsession is pathetic.

I hope you were good today. Did you cook 3 dozen eggs, 5 pounds of bacon, and a loaf of toast for that special someone? A light breakfast.
