Disgusted what heard after holidays my referral interviewing with company unfortunately lost her pet 10+ years and had an interview with Merial. My understanding the candidate reached out to manager about passing and could not interview due to a service and the manager did not even respond? Even if manager chose to not interview the very least the manager could have done was apologize to candidate for the passing of her family pet! In this world and in this industry people SHOULD have some type of passion and understanding. This is a job for freaking ANIMAL healthcare! That manager should be fired! I am so upset hearing about this. told candidate I was so sorry for even recommending her. I left over a year ago but never in my experience did I think I would have to pick up a phone and apologize for something a manager should have done last month. Shame on you!

What is meant by "due to a service"?

Sounds to me service may mean funeral service? Not sure. Presuming true, I agree with post above. If this is animal healthcare then candidate should have gotten a response at the very least and it only takes seconds to respond with iphones etc. I am disappointed how some managers act and react to the entire interviewing process. I heard last week that someone flew 2 hour flight for interview to find out person was not chosen and flew back w/o interview. SO ODD!

agreed that the interviewer did not handle the situation well. On the other hand, I can not imagine that a funeral service for a pet is a valid reason to reschedule an interview. Sounds like this potential hire has some issues.

quit being a baby. go to the interview if its a job you want and then go home and take care of your family business. The manager is probably looking for a sales person not a human pharma reject that thinks they have been selling for 15 years.

    Geez

LMAO Elanco is getting their azz handed to them by Nexgard and Bravecto. Go find some money to buy Merail's vaccines off BI so you can play ball with the big boys... Good luck selling that snake oil line. Make sure you get the rights to their big cheerleader Dr Wolfe...

It's all about creating wealth, squeezing out the most profit and then dumping the liability , I mean selling the company for as much as you can , before competitive products begin to decrease your value. Then move on the the next big thing.

Dude you couldn't have been more wrong. You predicted everything to be the exact opposite/reverse of how things really panned out. Maybe dust off your crystal ball or just keep quiet and stop yapping away about stuff you know nothing about.
