No go with AMGN

Should Amgen win, the integration leader will probably be a chick named Sweeney - a bottom line hard arse. Be warned HQ staff!

Amgen will win, even if means selling off an asset or agreeing not to bundle. The integration leader at Amgen is Kave Niksefat. That was announced in January. He will likely end up leading the rare disease business unit. It doesn’t matter who is the lead - the HQ people will be gone eventually.

They already announced Vikram is leading it.

Read that email again. He’s in charge as of Day 1 as they “continue to efforts towards a successful integration”. Then under “looking beyond day 1” it says that Amgen intends to create a rare BU. There isn’t a damn thing about who will lead it.
Vikram likely isn’t going to hang around to just be a BU leader. That’s a step back. This is SOP to keep someone like him on until integration is complete. Then they’ll give him his package so that he can move on.

..... sigh

You obviously aren't in the "know". He is leading the new rare disease business unit

Oh, I’m so sure that you are…(eye roll), it makes total sense that they moved over the VP general manager of the IBU at Amgen to be the VP of integration of Horizon but will then will just demote him or fire him so that Vikram can take a step back in his career. Suuuuuure.

No one said they were going to demote him or fire him. Plenty of spots to promote him. Head of the new rare disease business unit wont be one of them.

I was in my final interviews with Walgreens when they announced their upcoming layoffs. I was told there is now a moratorium on new hires! There are limited opportunities to escape Horizon once the merger goes through and now Walgreens is off the list! Has anyone had luck with Astellas or Baxter?
