Ethicon is so disappointing

WTF

Ethicon has become a very disappointing place to be. Tenured reps are beyond frustrrated and the new hires have little experience. 100% of success come from your contracts and collaboration with everyone is old pharma bs. The morale is the worst it has ever been and tons of people are leaving. Everyone says the grass isn't greener, but when your car is tracked, you hit you number and only earn a fraction of what you used to years ago, you do 4 or 5 people's jobs, your expected to how how how how how to get money, leadership doesn't care about your success because they sit around and collect checks, this place is disappointing. I've realized I have wasted a lot of years here. Time to move on.

I would love to know what others think?

I work in corporate and I'm sorry but the sales results from the field teams have been nothing more than disappointing, especially with contracting. Your commissions need to be affected to reflect lack of success over the past 3-5 years. Our business model is changing and quite frankly, we are finding alternative ways to sell to our customers more efficiently. Those who are unable to adopt, will be left behind.

FYI - you need to be tracked because of years of abuse across the board.

Let's start again sonny...
"I am sorry but ("leadership's", just laughing by even typing this oxymoron) results have been nothing but disappointments..
Innovation? Oh yea-what was that old mantra you came up-"transforming patient care through innovation"..Good one!

Management (more appropriate than leadership, sorry)-virtually no touch with reality with the customer, those RSD's sure had a preemptive a pulse on the evolution of health care while sitting at home everyday and tracking their pension..No wonder why none of them leave or better yet get managed out???

Reps-You are right, most of them do suck and are lazy and milked the mother ship while working 15 hours a week..Glad it only took you the last 10 years to figure that one out!!

Lol that's hilarious, track your cars to see the managers at their country clubs and the reps hanging out in coffee shops talking about ways to hide price increases and load up accounts with unnecessary products just to meet quotas...

i agree that this place is disappointing I came into to a BT role and was really excited but after two years figured out that this job is not a long term job. This is a good stepping stone job if you do it for two years, but would not want to stay here longer than two years.

The area I'm in is full of old Ethicon reps that sit around the hospital doing nothing all day. Now knowing their cars are tracked goes a long way in explaining what they were doing in the lounge reading the paper while occasionally looking up and saying Hi to a surgeon or two. What a life.

I don't know about older reps sitting around, I just know it use to be if you could sell and hit your number you got recognized, now if you can send the best email on how great you are and talk about operation smile you are in line for VP jobs

Ha! Sad but true...Then off to the Starbucks in scrubs to fill out some trackers during the "workday" for the marketing team and the mother ship...

sorry to hear you are having a tough time but it has always been a very arrogant company that overestimated itself. Truthfully, it is a company that was med device lite and really one step away from a pharma company. You are seeing what others have known for years.

Yes, it took me a few years to figure this out as was a naïve dummy drinking the koolaid for more years that I should have accrued. I hung around too long yet I am not ungrateful or bitter as it provided me a respectful income and in may ways was overpaid, but that was it. Poor leadership, vision, and ultimately I believe just the normalcy of working for a behemoth of a company with empty suits captaining the ship

The real problem I think is the huge disconnect between the home office(s) and the field. If anyone who has been in the home office in marketing or commercial operations or curriculum design or really any functions in NJ or OH for longer then 4+ years came into the field and tried to excel at what they expect from the field, they themselves would have a hard time. The reality is the disconnect between leadership and the trenches.

i think all of us would agree that working at Walmart is comparable to working at Ethicon. Both positions really not needed and found to be useless when asked any questions. At least being a greeter you have the chance to make someone smile.

hilarious comparison and totally true. Some healthcare systems are already moving to a rep less no access status. Maybe collaboration can help that as we role play that out
