Ethicon is so disappointing

There are worse places to be, I think, the Koolaid has to filter out before I can actually speak my real thoughts. Just remember with JNJ you get a pension, and with other companies you get,, well some other companies have pensions, but with Ethicon you get a company car, and well other companies give company cars too, but with Ethicon you can promote easily based on sales results and effort, well I know that's actually true with other companies, but with Ethicon you are representing "game changing" products just read all the emails from reps, well I mean commodities are kinda game changing, but with Ethicon you can be a part of the best place on earth to work for, based on the anonymous credo surveys, and everyone loves working at Ethicon, literally everyone loves it.

Car = tracked

Cell phone = paid for so you better believe they are tracking it.

Computer = tracked.

Sorry. How old are we?

As someone working in NJ, I will say that this is a necessary evil. The amount of money you reps make is far what you're worth, and yes, you are expendable. Please don't try and tell us because you have some "relationships" that you're worth more than $150k/year.

Show me an Ethicon rep making 150k a year and I will show you an Ethicon rep with multiple side jobs like cutting lawns and waiting tables... Divide 150k / 3 then add in the car, phone & computer that track you as if you were in kindergarten.

Umm you must not know many reps my friend...
I personally haven't made under $200k in 5 years, and I know of the 9 reps in my division, the lowest last year was $165k and she is a first year rep with a super low base salary

That's a total lie. And you should be ashamed of yourself. Only reps that use to make that kind of money are the TALs and Managers while they sit around and do nothing.

Duh, thanks for that profound nugget of info..Might you also be expendable as well??

Tons of people quiting this year it is already happening and will continue and the positions will keep being filled with youngsters with no experience because you can be mindless at this place now soon clones will do the rep job and no one will care goooo credo JNJ = Turnover

There's a possibility that the entire division is made up of exec reps who have a high base salary. So it may not be a total lie. Just leaving out the fact that the individuals have very high base salaries which isn't the case when you join this company as a new rep

However, on the flip side, during my times here, I don't recall a single situation where the reps on my team were all discussion their incomes with each other. 1. It's not mine or anyone else's business how much money you make in a year and 2. Most reps lie about their income. We all throw out, "I made over $200K last year". Doesn't make it true.

yes its true. You will have suture, dermabond, and snow in your bag. These products are added to to erode your comp on your recon products.

Hahaha! + you will have to work and partner with Ethicon reps who should have zero responsibility in the OR and working with your joint surgeons.

Makes total sense, the most important part of your recon job is joints and if that gets infected the surgeon blames it on you. And Ethicon wants you to do their job for them selling products that could risk or cause infected joints?!

Just an interesting business model this place has and an interesting way to operate a company, hopefully the company will get back to what it was good at if it even remembers what that was.......

Haha. Don't be mad recon folks that you have to sell now. You have no idea what's coming. Those Cush days of no selling and hanging out with the same 3 docs are over.

Just wait and see

lol you clowns. This is probably some scheme made up by JNJ Corporate but I will take the bite anyways.

Recon and trauma reps are relied & trusted upon because they should be. They are well needed in the ORs. We order everything for each surgery as opposed to Ethicon reps who show up and just get in the way, all the time. I don't need you to talk to me about a suture length, type or how to fire a stapler/ energy device. That's common sense.

Ethicon reps have to sham their way into the OR by stealing door codes from doctors or befriending the staff. You work less than 4 hrs a day, cheat your whole company on your expense reports and blame your teammates when you are not hitting your numbers.

Shame on you for taking advantage of the system.

I agree with everything you say about Ethicon reps except for the selling part. They do try to sell. "Ordering everything for each surgery" is not selling... the only reason you have access or a job is because the hospital does not want to spend the money to stock all of you and your competitors stuff so they use you as their consignment.

It's amazing how one rep thinks their job is so much more important or such a higher level than anothers.
