Vaccine VBU-Dear James

...and one more thing!

Everyone has as part to play. A lot of us are in new roles that were thrust on us and still learning about new customers, contacting, etc.

I don't care about the execs. We are just numbers to them. Enough with the infighting, I'm tired of hearing your shit. It's boring.
Well said!

As an adult vaccine rep in 2020 during COVID, retail pharmacies largely shut down Shingrix vaccinations. At the time, 85% of our sales came from the retail sector, with only 15% from community healthcare.

With the retail sector essentially cut off, leadership decided that, to meet my Shingrix sales goal, I needed to increase my private/public sales by 566.67%—a completely unrealistic number. It was a ridiculous math exercise for all my accounts.

I told my director this was an impossible expectation, especially given that my accounts had far more pressing concerns than Shingrix in the midst of the chaos. Her response? That we needed a meeting to improve my "questioning techniques." She then documented her "coaching" in a formal write-up, with the measurable outcome being whether I somehow managed to achieve that 566.67% increase."

You can't make this crap up. Not much has changed in leadership- it's only got worse. Yet I stay in this dysfunctional pile of crap as I am 2 years from my retirement target and continue to try my best.

Another case of middle and senior management engaging in a game of justify my job. Complete another nonsense and just goes to show you how out of touch with reality this industry truly is.

How about the virtual calls they wanted all of us to make, in the middle of a pandemic that nobody even knew what the hell it was yet. Yeah, just what these offices wanted and needed. To tell them to make sure their patients are still getting that shingles vaccine! So out of touch with reality, they’re a bunch of self serving buffoons in leadership of this company. I hope you make it two more years so you can get the hell out of this dysfunctional place. The VBU has become the hell hole of the medical sales industry. I’d love to hear the ideas your fearless leader is telling to to achieve that stupid 15% growth in 6 weeks.

Middle managers are truly the most useless losers in sales, especially VBU sales. They contribute not one penny of revenue for any company. They just get their overinflated pay to make their reps lives miserable and pretend to know it all. They’re a complete embarrassment to sales.

I’ve read all these whining posts and my impression as an outside VBU rep is you are a bunch of reps who don’t work and think it’s just going to happen. From what I’ve seen you enjoy staying at home, faking calls, doing the bare minimum. This is why GSK is losing money. They have a bunch of lazy reps who cheat and steal from the company. It’s starting to tell on them. You people who belly ache on here, let me ask you a serious question. Are you giving over 100 percent to your job? Are you going beyond the call of duty? Are you going after the business and low hanging fruit? If you answered no to yourself then get off your ass and work! You say doctors and staff don’t want to see you? Wonder why? probably bc you waste their time and bring them zero value. Show up with some passion for the patient and do the job you were hired to do instead of going to the gym etc on GSK time thinking it’s unnecessary to work. This is why your division is sinking, you have given up because it’s too hard. Do a self evaluation. if your company is folding, are you part of the reason? My guess is yes because of what I’ve observed working beside and it is pathetic. Showing up to lunches late in your gym clothes. My recommendation to vaccine leadership is to get rid of your lazy reps and hire some people with good track records and attitudes that can get the job done. Start your self evaluation immediately before you make another ridiculous post. It’s your company, your have awesome drugs in your bag, it’s up to you to get the job done. End of story. It’s no one’s fault but your own. You are not paid a lot of money with benefits to sit on your butt when the going gets tough!!!! Where is your grit ???

Yah, because if you work extra extra hard, that anti vaxxer might change their mind and take that shot!

There are a lot of dumb posts on cafe pharma. This is one of the most oblivious and idiotic of them all, clearly written by a GSK manager. Reps in the VBU could give one million percent, have the greatest attitude on the planet and it still wouldn’t change the obvious component of vaccine fatigue and anti vaccine sentiment. Just because you choose to ignore the obvious, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Low hanging fruit, hahaha, please try to explain what you consider low hanging fruit in the VBU. Great suggestion, but that doesn’t exist. Maybe bring one of the new contract managers in to give an amazing business review they just learned about and THAT will be the game changer. Maybe if you shove that iPad in a doctors face to talk about how patients with comorbidities are more susceptible to getting shingrix, THAT will be what changes everything! Let those docs know that shingrix has 91-97% efficacy! I bet none of them have any idea! But please do let everyone know what your low hanging fruit is. I’m sure that answer will be comical too. Doctors don’t give a shit to see any reps these days, good reps or bad reps, especially ones who have nothing different to say about Shingrix, which has been on the market for 8 years with no competitor. And trust me, they don’t want to see your arrogant and clueless ass either despite your attitude of self importance. You’re not that smart and not that good at sales. Nothing is new with Shingrix. The doctors get it. They know everything they need to know about Shingrix. You’re just a stupid manager who thinks if you just show up so positive that you’ll hit that 15% growth in 6 weeks, no problem! Please. You have an awesome drug in your bag, that a vast majority of 50+ patients who wanted it have already gotten. But hey, start that self evaluation right away and everything will change! Make sure to walk into that office at 830 am tomorrow with a big old self evaluation change and that doctor will say, oh my god, I never thought of saying that to a patient! Thank you for being here. I’m not nearly as smart as you Mr or Mrs rep! I can tell you’re different this morning. You did a self evaluation over the weekend, didn’t you!! This is why the idiot manager who posted this is hated so much. You’re so oblivious and delusional of reality it’s hilarious. Fire the entire division and bring on brand new reps, every single one of them presidents club winners, everyone one of them positive self evaluators. The vaccine revenue would go up $0. And I don’t even work at the company. You’re just trying to justify your worthless existence as a manager, a micromanager I’m sure. If only you started seeing all the doctors on that opportunity engine scheduler that will change the world, especially the ones who don’t see reps, ever. Maybe get that grumpy receptionist a Starbucks and she’ll send you right back for a thorough 45 minute discussion about Shingrix or Arexvy! Let the receptionist know you have a brand new marketing piece you’d like to show a doctor. Omg you’re kidding, a new marketing piece!? Please come back the doctor was waiting and hoping for that today! Thank you so much! I do hope everyone in the VBU reads your post because if they knew they just needed more grit and a self evaluation the turn around in the VBU would be immediate. After all, nobody likes making bonus dollars. It’s so much more fun to be a decile 10 while eating ice cream on the couch. You’re a manager because you sucked at being a rep, yet you think you know it all. Even your your self evaluation brilliance couldn’t overcome the vaccine fatigue that every doctor on the planet acknowledges. Get a life.

Poor guy your negative attitude is destroying you. Time to get a new job when you are all doom and gloom. Get some help and turn in your resignation.

To post #26. Go fuck yourself! Passion doesn’t open doors. Policies, especially in the northeast, are in place that prevent reps from doing the basics: lunches, no samples, no dinner programs, etc. Post #28 is correct. Right, tell the salesforce to do something they can’t possibly do : sell to someone who won’t/can’t talk to you. You’re an idiot manager. Glad I left this shit hole years ago.

Likewise. Typical manager responses. They’re all oblivious to reality. It’s embarrassing to come on here as a manager and pretend the medical sales landscape isn’t what it is. Their reps hate them and they probably don’t know that either. They have the most useless jobs in the company but hey, go show some grit and that will change everything. Pure comedy.

Time for your resignation. Put up or shut up
Hahahaha. Leaving GSK is the single best thing I’ve ever done in my career. It’s amazing how greener the grass is working for a company that treats their employees like adults. I highly recommend it. Keep micromanaging your reps and being oblivious to reality. I hope they all quit under your pathetic “leadership” and you’re forced to “manage” a team full of newbies. Your lack of managing abilities will be clear when that happens, not that it isn’t now. Make sure you do a motivational meeting today so your reps who did their self evaluation over the weekend can share their success stories. Hilarious.

Exactly! The VELs contribute absolutely nothing to the VBU. They are just very expensive babysitters who make rep’s lives miserable & approve expense reports. Oh and let’s not forget they write up their reps in C2W for not being green for the ridiculous metrics! What a total waste of money for these high salaried managers! Perhaps James will realize that’s where some cuts need to be made.

Yep. Useless and arrogant micromanagers who are nothing but mouthpieces for the useless leaders like Joaquin. I always took every word of those coaching to wins to heart to really try to be like my manager. No thanks. Smile and shake your head then flip them off when they finally get the hell out of your car. Hopefully James is better than the idiot whose idea it was for this ridiculous ecosystem and having more managers with less reps. Comedy at its finest. They need to get out there and coach the reps even more with their infinite wisdom. Well, you know if you just said blah blah blah your sales would be through the roof! Yep. Noted.
