Facing reality

You will reach a point in life when you realize that you are a disposable commodity pushed to achieve more to keep owners, investors, shareholders happy. Customers are only a mean to achieving this goal.
Never has Galderma cared less about its customers or employees.

Remember, your life is about you. It is not about some poxy company with unreasonable targets. Who will be there for you when you’re old and ill – your manager? Who will miss you when you’re gone – the organization you work for? Fleming?

Work, at its most basic level is about generating income and imparting value to the organisation/their end users. You are, in the work sense, entirely expendable and are simply a resource not a person – why is human resources called human resources? You’re a fixed cost in a machine, more so at Galderma then anywhere else. No one cares if you’re here or not as long as you help the CEO and CFO increase their personal wealth.

The best advice I got in pharma 20 years ago from a seasoned manager was never to trust anyone.

I would pass this same advice on to someone. The biggest mistakes I have made is usually trusting or showing my cards to someone.

Are our colleagues really our friends? How many reached out after being fired? How many colleagues do you stay in touch with after you leave?
