Vaccine VBU-Dear James

lol so clearly you’re an IS trying to justify your value to the company. That’s fair, not reality but I can see why. Driving demand in an office. Sure. With what new message? Comorbidity pieces came out 6 months ago. Docs have heard it, if they’re even listening. You don’t think doctors know that patients with comorbidities are more at risk for shingles without you? Haha. Patient education materials. I’m sure they’re handing them out to every single patient and STRONGLY recommending Shingrix. That’s why Shingrix is tanking. Tweak or improve protocols. lol like what? Make sure to schedule that second shot before you leave! Run a report of the patients who didn’t get the second dose! They’d have never thought of that without it you. Whether you’re out of sight or in sight, a doctor doesn’t care. They’re pretty smart people, much smarter than you. They know when to discuss certain vaccines with a certain patient population. They don’t need you to bring them Chipotle to remember. Staying in *their face does nothing but annoy them. That’s why they don’t want to see you unless you feed Betty and Margaret. Screening for patients who haven’t been vaccinated. Guess what. The people who haven’t been vaccinated don’t want to be vaccinated. Shingrix has been out 8 years. Ever hear of vaccine fatigue? Maybe listen instead of being in the docs face with your iPad. Pulling through contracts for your stockers? IS’s don’t know anything about contracting. That’s why you’re an IS. And I’d bet my mortgage your stocking numbers aren’t any better than your retail numbers. You’re not saying it will drive 15% growth, well no crap lol. Nothing you’re doing will move the needle, at all. Business is about relationships and protecting relationships. What the hell are adult IS’s protecting, the other shingles vaccine on the market. Never mind there isn’t one. Holy oblivious. You must be new to pharma. Sounds like you wanted to be a VKAL or VAE and weren’t chosen. Have they secured any C-Suite customers? I’m willing to bet they’ve secured more than you have! You sound bitter they make more than you do. Whatever you’re making, it’s way too much. You may wanna get that resume together cuz IS’s will be the first to go. I’m not sure anyone else would hire you, which is why you sound so desperate to justify your GSK existence.
Interesting comments. Was none of this shared upward?

As someone who was is SFE but not in that role now (it was years ago in navy yard before the move), you can bet that layoffs are coming. This is easy math to see that more reps don’t equal more sales. Now don’t get me wrong I do think a sales force necessary but the days of knocking on every PCP door is gone.

For those who having been milking this for decades, I get it. You got a part time job paying six figures (back when six figures was good money) so you could pick up the kids, do Pilates and whatever else after delivering lunch and repeating a few sentences.

But for the young ones, I urge you to upskill because the modern workforce is changing and changing rapidly. And there will be a day when this party comes to an end and I hope you can find meaningful work.

God bless America

Lazy reps get jobs in vaccines so they stay home in their pajamas and fake calls. The managers in this division are so stupid they fear hiring enthusiastic people who work bc they are afraid they will show them what It’s like to work….disgusting how lazy reps play the GSK game and manipulate ppl into hiring them for high paying jobs. then they continue to do the same thing they always do. Sit home and fake calls, call a few offices on the phone. This is called stealing from GSK. Comical how stupid leadership is in this company

So true. It makes me sick!

The best hint of how things are going is to look at all of the good people that have left HQ (not fired but left on their own)!!!!!!!Here at FMC it’s insane how much has changed! Although some for the better.

Just last year when you lose both senior directors of your biggest brands that ain’t a good sign Y’all. But with performance where it’s at they clearly knew something the rest of us didn’t or were to blind to see!!!!

Peaky blinders is the best TV show ever and you can never convince me otherwise!! I love watching it and stuffing down a cheesesteak with da whiz, because that’s how we do in Philly. GO BIRDS!!!

Good reps are leaving on their own as well. I agree with Peaky Blinders comment! No whiz, white American all the way wit onion!

Middle managers are truly the most useless losers in sales, especially VBU sales. They contribute not one penny of revenue for any company. They just get their overinflated pay to make their reps lives miserable and pretend to know it all. They’re a complete embarrassment to sales.
All the people I saw over the years get promoted to manager were low ranking reps. Saw this clear as day. They were the best ass kissers though and great at their champion roles.

No question. That’s why they went into management, they couldn’t sell air conditioners in the desert. If their amazing words of wisdom after every call and nitpicking comments were so useful, why didn’t they just remain reps? If everything they said to a doctor made the difference in winning or losing, why then depend on 6-10 reps to control your pay? If you’re THAT amazing at sales and know everything, wouldn’t you want to remain a rep and win circle of excellence every year and be in decile 1 making big money? Seems like a no brainer. Problem is, they couldn’t sell to save their lives and now just pretend that their super advice is the end all be all. It’s so comical.

This comment is coming from someone VEL or higher, the FCCs for the reps come in the afternoon not the morning.
Not a secret. All the embedded Syneos vaccines reps have been talking about this for awhile. Oh and there have been public job postings all over the country for these position. Nice effort on the detective work.

All valid points. When leaders make moves without really listening to those that have to execute the actual plans it always goes south. GSK, before you make another move -listen first! Before you hire another person- listen first . Last year you flooded the market with DTC. This year it is people. Just stop. You are all over the board.

Leadership needs to JUST STOP with all the activity focused energy. Sales will always go up and down. It has ZERO to do what is being reported in VEEVA. Access and geographical areas are all very different. Clear sign people don’t know how to coach people, they focus on metrics. DESTROYED YOUR CULTURE IN THE VBU!! Are you listening????????????????

Marketing ruined sales. Somehow these people think they know how to sell because they “carried the bag” for two years on a rotation.

Give me the resources and let me figure out how to relate it to individual customers. That’s what sales does. That’s the art you can’t measure with an OE percentage or call per day.

GTFO of the way.

…and for Christ sake; pick a priority! We can’t do EVERTHING all at once. This division would rather do ten things shitty than two things well.

I didn’t pursue an account role in the VBU for the traditional sales experience. It’s not a typical sales job—instead, it offers stability, solid compensation, and good benefits. I’ve been in the position for over 15 years. While there’s certainly some b.s. involved, it provides much more security compared to a conventional sales role.

Wow. Just be glad you all have a high paying job, company car and great benefits. Fake it ‘till you make it - all the way to retirement, that is. Glad I left a few years ago. Retirement is great!
