Next cut: Fleet Department

As someone who's not in this business unit, I am greatly enjoying this insight into this culture. Also this thread is a great mix of shitposting and actual conversation. Wish more cafepharma posts were this active.

Again the pharmaceutical sales individual does not ever see the principal customer which is the physician, you know the one that writes the prescriptions?
As I said pharmaceutical sales has metastasized into a Starbucks, Panera, Chipotle you name it Meals on Wheels clinic-office $200,000/yr food delivery service. Executive management now knows essentially the sales individual works from10 to 2 on a very good day. In vehicle telematics has confirmed documented and benchmarked this activity trend.
The “detail man“ sales model, company car inoffice live appointment driven physician approach is a dinosaur and will finally be extinct at the pharmaceutical outfit I am the Director of Fleet Operations, including vehicle procurement.
Until a receptionist can write prescriptions or if you’re ever allowed to hand deliver physical samples again we see no utilization for the typical traditional pharmaceutical sales vehicle-approach not only me but as bench-marked AAOP as well as the NETS organization.

Time to realize the tide has turned and the tide as we say is going out.
TRUTH! As a shareholder/employee of GSK, your post is spot on! Come on management and can the obsolete sales reps.

How do you drive Rxs when you can’t see the doctors? Curious in HQ
Who doesn’t see the doctors, NPs PAS?Or the CMOs, CNO’s, lead nurse, pharmacist, Director of Pharmacy, office managers, MA’s that all have impact when it comes to either contracting/stocking or protocols for vaccines??
We fucking do….THE REP! We drive sales you moron.

You probably are just an internet troll, but GOD help us if you actually work in any pharmaceutical companies HQ

Stop! You are not kidding anyone. KcKinsey survey results indicate that >70% of medical clinics do not permit pharma rep access. What do reps do during the business day (9 to 5)?!? Drivers of Rx sales are: (1) TV advertising (high ROI), (2) drug differentiation labeling that permits formulary access, tier prescribing, and payment (need for R&D$s!), and AI-generated sample programs (low cost). Spending money on luncheons where most docs don't show up for the food orgy is a total waste and is degrading. How can today's pharma rep look in the mirror and feel good about themselves and their job without gagging? Internal survey results <10%.

If you had half a brain, you would realize that you don’t have to see everyone in a health system to drive immunization rates. The problem with you e-trolls, which know little about the day to day aspects of a health-system, is that you rely on a fucking survey for everything to gain knowledge!
Worry about your own ROI…because we know what impact WE can have. YOU provide NOTHING!!! See I didn’t need McKinsey to realize that.

There are two strategies for coping with facts; the way of avoidance or the way of attention. We see you have selected avoidance. Look in the mirror and you will see crumbs from Jimmy Johns on your keister.

former rep here: my work days consisted of the following activities: leave house at 9:30AM -> pretend doctor call @10:15 -> stop by Macy's for new retinol lotions -> 11:30 show up for luncheon to feed hungry hippos and say hi to doctor -> 1:OOPM leave office and stop by Black and White for new tops to go with my designer jeans -> pretend doctor call @ 2:00 -> go to yoga class @ 2:30 -> 3:45 pickup kids at school and go directly to ballet class for oldest girl, proceed to soccer field for son -> 5:20 go home and collapse after exhausting workday.

Oh absolutely, the post is spot on. I mean, what could possibly be more genius than the concept of a 4x4? Nothing screams "efficiency" like dragging people into meetings with folks who have zero impact on anything meaningful. It’s such a brilliant way to waste everyone's time while giving reps the warm, fuzzy illusion that they're being productive. And let’s not forget those riveting lunch meetings—unless it's a new product launch, they’re basically gourmet morale destroyers. Truly, nothing elevates the rep position like being reduced to calendar filler.

Keep trying….you can do it. You’re definitely the fun guy at a party I can tell.

Glad you are a former rep. You basically stole from the company. It says a lot about the kind of person you are- a loser.

Therefore by your characterization, the entire GSK sales force is comprised of losers. We all agree that pharma reps no longer can see docs let alone deliver a sales pitch. Keep feeding the hippos, loser!

Now that I am a home office remote type, my day looks like this: wake up in stupor from last night's bourbon - about 8:30. Turn Fox on and scream at immigrants and libruls - around 10 I get a grub hub deliver and devour a couple tenderloin biscuits and wash them down with a protein drink. I then take my blood pressure meds, my Lipitor, my pain killers, my anti depressant, my GLP-1, my Synthroid, my Biktarvy, my Eliquis and my gout med. I then log onto a Teams call, afterwich I send out some action item emails. I then help my wife with her job since she's the bread winner. Around 1 I take a nap to the sweet sound of Fox. About 3 I get outta the chair and go yell and the yard help (all illegals that we actually bill to my wife's business). Next up, I drive to get a late lunch of fried chicken. Back at the house by 4:30, I send out some emails that require people to work that night. I then start pounding ole fashions. Until about midnight, falling asleep to Fox. I go to be angry and wake up angry and every 5 days I need to go get some new insulin supplies.
